One spray, and the gays will run your way…

Britney Spears, in a spoof ad for her (not upcoming) Mo fragrance: “one spray, and the gays will run your way”. The ad was created in support of the upcoming NewNowNext awards from Logo, which “highlight the best in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pop and underground Culture”.

Darn, I wish I could watch this on my work computer! (No speakers, no sound.) It looks hilarious. Glad to know Brittney (maybe) has a sense of humor about herself.

I don’t know…it made me chuckle, but it didn’t really go the distance into hilarious for me. Be interested to hear what others think.

Am I the only one not really **getting** the joke in this video.

there wasn’t really much of a joke.
I saw it yesterday and I was like “ermmm… ok”
*Why* will just one spray have all the gays running my way?

      It’s just silly…don’t think there’s a big joke there.

once Logo wrote about Bill from TH (my gravatar) and they weren’t even saying he’s gay they were just saying he’s hoottttt and all these fangirls were like “omg dflkjdflkfdjvlksdjlkfjljkr” it was so embarrassing ; ____ ; I don’t know why other fans feel the need to embarrass me

I really, really can not stand Britney.

I just feel bad for her. Well, and I resent her for putting out a truly sub-par line of perfume, which seemed to start, or at least exacerbate, the trend for sickeningly sweet fragrances.

At the risk of sounding all sour and mean, I find Britney to be about as valuable an individual as Paris Hilton.
I found the ad to be vaguely offensive.

Well, maybe, but her perfumes are better! And in her favor I’ll say that at least she’s famous for a reason instead of just because her family is rich, LOL…

I cannot comment on the perfumes endorsed by either girl, as I haven’t smelled any of them. I just don’t go “shopping” if it can be avoided —and when I go there’s just been things that I was more interested in sniffing (my nose can only take a couple of scents and it’s done.)
But you are right Britney (while frequently badly behaved and odd) at least has some talent. Paris on the other hand has the media-magic combo pack: rich & badly behaved. Don’t even get me started on her complete lack of talent.

    Uh…?

Not particularly funny. Penned by a recent crop of Saturday Night Live writers?

Could be WAY funnier. Is SNL bad these days?

I don’t even watch it, but I tuned in when Tina Fey was doing her Palin schtick and some of the other skits were just painful. I’m sure it jumped the shark ten years ago.

It was definitely better when I watched it when I was like 10.
I heard a rumor that Tokio Hotel might possibly be considered to be on it some day, and I don’t know if that is as as a guest or performer… but if they’re guesting you HAVE to watch that episode.
I have never even been around any kind of drug ever, but their DVD makes me feel like I’m on something.

I had to go check them out – I like them!
Do you prefer the German or the English?

LOL…yeah, Tina Fey doing Palin is the last thing I saw too.

That’ll teach me to comment on something before I’ve seen it–clearly it does not sound like anyone else thought it was “hilarious.” I guess I was expecting something cute and campy. I’ll have to wait until I’m at home with a computer that has sound to judge for myself.

(Oh, and embarrassing admission time: I hate hate hate Paris Hilton, but nonetheless found myself buying a bottle of “Heiress.” I know! I know! What is wrong with me?? I really do like it, I can’t explain it.)

You get to like whatever you like! If you try it and want it ,then who cares whose name is on the box (just toss that box in the trash) …I like CK Eternity and loads of people blast that!
Now, if you had said that you like Paris Hilton….that’s another story….you’d have been in morality-time-out for DAYS! (with no potty breaks!)

    • Robin
      Posted on 29 May 2009

Hey, like what you like, who cares?

    Britney, you suck!

  9. Posted on 29 May 2009

Speaking as a gay, I thought it was funny! It is Brittany making a little parody of herself (well, when does she not, really?), since her only fan base these days is gay men. Kudos to her I say.

Yeah…just could have been funnier. Looks like they spent literally 5 minutes on new material, all the rest is old stuff.

    Coulda’ve been funnier.
As a gay man, I did not find it offensive, being Britney and all…
    :-P

I laughed when J Lopez was a guest star in Will & Grace and she was promoting Glow. :-D

I’m offended she didn’t put more effort into making it *really* funny ;-)

This is so tongue-in-cheek. I think it’s cute.
