Uh-oh, I am going to have to buy at least 3 of these! Pompon Gardenia, Tamara Charleston and Chere Louise sound fabulous…

Really looking forward to trying these, & hope they’ll live up to the Shanghaijava set, which was wonderful.

Oh my. I’m looking for that Facebook-style button to click that says “LIKE!”.

How pretty! These are the kinds of thing that make excellent stocking stuffers or little gifts.

Yes, the packaging is great and so is the price.

I would be excited, if these were made by any other company— but so far, I’m just not a fan of ANY of the Crazylibellules that I’ve smelled. None. I really want to like them, too! I love solids, and the price point is killer.

Has anyone smelled the Nuts solids that Sephora is selling? I love the mango one. Loooove it. I am dying to find a edp or edt that smells like this. It’s a really great skin scent…

Really, none of them? I thought they were all very well done for the price. But no, haven’t tried the Nuts things, sorry!

    • Posted on 20 May 2009

Same here – love solids, love the packaging, and the price is right. But I can’t find one to love.

Still, I will certainly give these a chance :)

I was pretty excited about the Gardenia, until I saw the watermelon – ugh, now I”m afraid that it will smell like a Bonne Bell lipsmacker. Same with the rose – all of the notes sound good, except for the mango.

If I’m out and see them, I’ll give it a sniff, but it sure won’t be an unsniffed purchase.

Watermelon is not my favorite note either…

ohh, have to try these, and they are sooo reasonably-priced too! The Louise and Jonquille are right up my alley, esp with the chocolate notes…

      I want that Tamara Charleston!

Smoky, how funny taste is!! Chere does really tempt me, and Jonquille did too – UNTIL I saw the dreaded chocolate note… bleah, I haven’t liked chocolate/cocoa in anything so far.

Isn’t it great, though, when you see a list of notes and you think, “Hey, that could be me,” and then when you try it, you were right?? (although probably equally great to find one you thought you’d hate, but you love it!)

        Personally, I think they put the list of notes on there just to confuse me. Perfumes seldom smell like I think they’re going to! {darn misleading lists of notes!}

Yeah… although every now and then I NAIL ONE and I feel so vindicated… (Diorissimo. PdN Vanille Tonka. Tocade. Gres Cabaret. All of those begged me to try them, and they were For Me! and I was so excited.)

But we won’t talk about the ones I thought I’d like and didn’t. The list is too long, for one thing…

ADORE the packaging! Where can we find them?

I know Sephora started stocking some of the fragrances recently…

Adorable packaging, and I think the Voyage and the Louise sound like tempting combos.

      Posted on 20 May 2009

Ah, didn’t even think about layering yet!

      • Posted on 20 May 2009

Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean layering, I just meant that those two had interesting “combos” of notes, to me. I really haven’t gotten into layering anything yet. Sorta scared of trying, even!

After a big Pacifica purchase last year, I’ve discovered that solids and I just don’t get along. Shame, bc the packaging is really nice, and at least a few of their scents sounded interesting.

I’m with you: Solids are ok for sampling a dab on your arm, but for actually “wearing” a scent, to me it’s like putting greasepaint on my neck or something.

I don’t get along with solids very well, either. They last a nanosecond. I have to gouge big chunks out with my nail and smear them on to get even an hour or two. I have come very close to buying some of the Crazies I found at sephora. Maybe I’ll try again – the scents do sound great, and solids are nicely enviro friendly. Sigh. We’ll see.

These sound like fun and you can’t beat the price. I’m actually interested in trying several of them.

Very happy to see they haven’t jacked the prices up…

  12. Posted on 20 May 2009

Yay!! I was so afraid they were going to go upscale when they put out those “batons” and the liquid perfumes. If the world listened to me more often (and why not?) there would be one of these in every teen girl’s locker instead HelloKittyBritneyPinkWhatever.

Inspired by the ’20′s! Really, what more can we ask for? (Oh, that they smell good? Well yes, I suppose there’s that…)

    • Robin
      Posted on 20 May 2009

Yes, I thought maybe they were going in a different direction too, and frankly, I didn’t love any of the liquid scents. It’s easier to be forgiving over a $16 solid.

My thoughts exactly on the stocking stuffer idea; I gave my niece her first perfume at Christmas in the form of one of these little solids. I thougt Shanghaijava Lilas Spiritual was a light, floral, but very nice scent for a little girl to try. She loved it (I wear it, too). The scent is fleeting, but this is great in a child who might tend to over-apply scent.

These new sticks sound lovely. I’ll look forward to trying them. I’m blessed to live in a city with a shop that carries this niche line and lots of others. Lemming, lemming. . .I wonder, though. Do these batons count toward my FB purchase count for the year? :D

How nice! These look great, the notes are intriguing, the pricepoint is excellent and unchanged. Chere Louise will need to come and live with me, for sure.

Does anyone know whether the Gabrielle from Hommage à Gabrielle is actually Coco Chanel?

Wow, thanks for the heads up :)
Chère Louise sounds lovely to me, and the price is oh-so reasonable. I might need to get myself a couple of these!

These days, $16 is essentially free ;-)

Ooh, Crazylibellule are some of my favorite cheap thrills! I can’t wait to check these out! Joséphine Jonquille sounds like it might be my favorite one – chocolate notes usually thrill me.
