Well, I went into Victoria’s Secret to sample Vertical at a recent trip to the mall – not expecting much, as I really didn’t like either of the Very Sexys. But I came out with the big bottle and a body wash, which is a rarity. Out of 60+ full bottles, this has been getting a lot of attention from me recently. Almost gotta feel bad for my other bottles!

It’s simultaneously sweet, spicy and green – something that’s often tried in designer scents but never really works quite like this. A miraculous amount of depth for what it is, and it’ll surely work in all seasons. On top of that, it perfectly melds with my body chemistry. Exceeded expectations by a mile. Any guys who like sweet scents should check this out. It almost reminds me of what a summer flanker of Rochas Man would smell like.

Wait! What?! Victoria’s Secret for men? I just skimmed right over the full post this morning without noticing that. I mean, sure, nothing wrong with that, but still, something seems wrong. Even if a woman bought it for a man, I can just imagine the scenario: “I am NOT wearing anything by Victoria’s Secret! I don’t CARE if it’s made for men!”

Who knows, maybe most men aren’t *that* bad. I’ll wear anything if it smells good (and to me, this doesn’t sound like it will)… but of course, I’m not most men.

Pink Jasmine is nice as a jeans scent, but I don’t own it personally. And no — don’t ever see Fresh at a discount, although admittedly I haven’t been looking.

I’d really like to try the Yves Rocher version too…hope they do get it eventually, although I haven’t read anything very spectacular about it.

Yes Robin, I order from Yves Rocher quite often (cheap), and I have seen it under a branch site, “descriptive Yves Rocher”. I don’t know if it’s for sale or not. I want the mini, I think it might be a Jasmine I’m looking for that might not be as heady as a lot of them. Pink Jasmine by Fresh is close….but pricey. Don’t you like P.J. as your blue jeans scent Robin? Can you find Fresh’s products at a discount?
I think a feminine/masculine scale would be cool, but who could judge that? I know my feminine differs from yours. There should be a whirly-girly scale. It would be on the negative on the feminine side.
