Celine Dion Spring in Provence ~ new fragrance

Celine Dion Spring in Provence perfume

Celine Dion has launched Spring in Provence, a new limited edition fruity floral green fragrance for women:

Provence in the spring…a magical journey for the senses. The warmth radiating from the hills in the golden light. Floods of amazing colorful flowers coming into bloom and inviting you to share their smile. Provence inspires Celine Dion’s art, her lyrics, her heart – and her new Limited Edition fragrance.

Spring in Provence was developed by perfumer Ilias Ermenidis; the fragrance notes include passion fruit, bergamot, coriander, honeysuckle, fig flower, violet, mimosa, ambrette, musk and vetiver.

Celine Dion Spring in Provence is available in 30 ml Eau de Toilette. (via celinedionspringinprovence)

Well, the fragrance doesn’t read like it’s going to be breaking new ground in the perfume world, although the notes sound pleasant enough and there’s no pink pepper listed.(maybe that phase has passed?)
What I want is to be airbrushed like Celine, yup that’s what I need…an airbrush technician just following me around all day…

LOL…I’ll take that photoshopper too. Unless I’m forgetting, I’ve never tried a Celine Dion scent…

I admit to having a bottle of Celine Dion…it’s actually very nice and super cheap. Don’t really like any of her other frags–they’re much more ubiquitous, at least to my nose.

Love the picture; the lavender fields around Arles practically vibrate with purple, and you can get the pure lavender oil just about anywhere nearby. The fields don’t smell like passion fruit, bergamot, or coriander, though. Where’s the lavender here? Doesn’t look like it would smell of the garrigue or the ocean, either.

It doesn’t sound like it will “smell like Provence”, true enough.

Yeah, I wondered where the lavender was, too. “Provence” says lavender to me, but maybe lavender would smell too masculine for the current market.

I think I would try this as I strolled past it at Walmart. I miss the days when I was satisfied with something cheap that I could buy at a drug store, I guess that’s what they mean about ignorance being bliss… :-)

I’d try it too if my Walmart had testers! But they don’t.

That’s a good point! Sometimes I find one, if something is relatively new, after awhile I think people just rip them off, which just ruins the fun for the rest of us!

Ah, it does my heart good to smell my fragrance called, Joi de Theif, Ode de la a Stolen, La Ripped-Off. How can you enjoy the smell of a selfish act? I don’t get it. But I don’t get people who are cruel to animals either. Although I’d much prefer a ripped off fragrance than a starved kitty.
Celine’s new one sound’s pretty though. Is she in a race with J. Lo?

I haven’t counted, but I think J Lo is winning?

See how they keep the fruity floral bit always on? It’s either a fruity floral oriental or a fruity floral green or a fruity floral chypre and so on. Come on, be brave, admit it’s a green fragrance!

The only fragrance that’s so green it makes me feel like a herbalist is Jardin En Mediterannee. Then comes Herba Fresca … and then the wonderful new Verbena Citrus from L’Occitane. One can’t top that!

My greenest green: Gobin Daude Sous Le Buis.

The greenest scent that reminds me of herbal medicine in the tropics is Eau de Campagne by Sisley.

Uh, wha? As a person actually living here in Provence, I haven’t noticed any passion fruit lying about.

Relying on indigenous flavors was apparently not a high priority ;-)

Perhaps they really meant Provence, Brazil ? Little known area in the southern part of Brazil….snicker….

No lavender? For Spring in Provence!…I know it’s not a fave for everyone, but it’s essential.

Maybe it’s so early in spring the lavender isn’t blooming yet? I’m grasping at straws here…

I am also wondering as to the absence of lavender.

Hmm, well lavender usually starts blooming late may/june so that could be it! :)
If I had to make a scent of provence I think I would choose olives, lavender, acquatic, soap, and fish. Hey, I’m not saying it would be a good perfume…
Maybe some mimosa and herbs like thyme and bay.

Forgot to mention that the scent Clean Provence is quite evocative to me.

its quite pleasant and doesn’t smell like any other fruity floral scent iv’e come across. But im quite inexperienced, you can definately smell the bergamot, doesn’t smell grassy or lavendery though. Snyone know any good cut grass fragrances?

Lots of people like Gap Grass. Demeter also has a Grass scent, I think.
