Victoria’s Secret Parfums Intimes ~ new fragrances

Victoria's Secret Parfums Intimes Satin

Victoria’s Secret has introduced the Parfums Intimes collection, a set of four fragrances for women designed to evoke lingerie fabrics.

Satin Rose de Mai (shown) ~ “A ripple of satin over bare skin. Rose de mai, a delicate pink rose cultivated in the fields of Grasse, France, home to the modern art of perfumery. Asian ‘living” honeysuckle procured via ‘Living Technology,” an innovation that captures the essence of the flower, untouched in its natural environment. A luminous backdrop of pink grapefruit and mandarin flower.”

Silk Mandarin Santal ~ A gossamer layer of silk bathes the body. Chinese mandarin, uniquely distilled for Victoria’s Secret to highlight its lush sparkle and exotic freshness. Rare and precious sandalwood from India. Elusive moments of mimosa, honeyed musk and white woods.”

Cashmere Vanilla Jasmine ~ “A luxurious cloak of cashmere envelops every curve. Sensual vanilla bean orchid from the French Island of Bourbon marries Mediterranean ‘living” purple orchid. Jasmine absolute cultivated in India. The lasting warmth of cedarwood and heliotrope.”

Lace Orange Flower ~ “A delicate veil of lace dresses skin in femininity. Exquisite, glowing orange flower absolute, harvested then handpicked in Nabeul, Tunisia. Distinctively rich chinese osmanthus. Ethereal flashes of pink grapefruit and watery dewdrops.”

The Victoria’s Secret Parfums Intimes fragrances are available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, in 250 ml Body Mist, or in a boxed set of four 7.5 ml travel sprays. (via victoriassecret)

I can’t believe I’m saying this but these sound actually wearable since they are mostly without the overbearing musk, fruit or candy notes that I find in most of the VS frags. Might have to sniff these.

BTW, Sephora B&M still doesn’t have the new Guerlain AAs – the SA mentioned possibly by the end of the month.

Could be! Or it could turn out that there’s all kinds of musk, fruit & candy that they just didn’t include in the descriptions ;-)

i got a pr sample of all 4 vials.
they are actually what the say?? very unexpected for vs.
the lace is an easy favorite dark and rich. satin is my pick for spring.

what is happening at vs? are they moving on from sugar and fruit?

I saw the new AA Cherry Blossom at Sephora last night…it’s just so…pink. I saved my nose for other sniffing purposes.

LOL…”so pink” pretty much sums it up. I still haven’t tried them though, my local Sephora doesn’t have them either.

Oh no!! I’ve been dreading this! How am I supposed to effectively lie to myself if I’m expected to write down what I spend ??? So how much are we allowed to, um, forget about? Cuz my memory is bad, real bad.

My spreadsheet is updated and ready to go! Can’t remember who I got the idea from (I’m sure it was a NST member), but glad I utilized it. Makes it so much easier to track purchases.

Nah, Fuddy, I didn’t believe it for a nanosecond!

soooo…..did ya order the Labo samples?? you know they’re calling your name. (they certainly called mine and I promised myself just last night NO MORE ORDERS) sigh, my spine is made of jello

I had to be a very bad girl and order the LeLabo sample set – I have been so good at resisting but there was just enough on my cc to get that and samples of Premier Figuer Extreme and Balkis. Good thing it is April 1st and it can go on next quarter’s damage report. Ha!

          Posted on 1 April 2009

Hey! that’s right! Today’s sample buying doesn’t count on my “very bad girl” quarter. Yeah, I’m feeling better about those now.
          You saved me Tama.

Has VS gone upscale on us? I haven’t sniffed the juice – and doubt I ever will – but I will say this is marked improvement in terms of their packaging. Seems like a collection of fragrances for actual, dare it say it, ADULT women.

It certainly looks like they’re trying to reach a more sophisticated audience!

The Orange Flower one sounds like it could be good. :]
I might just be a sucker for Orange Flower/Blossom though.

This may be a dumb question, but isn’t it really difficult to get sandalwood from India? I thought it wasn’t really used anymore…

    • Robin
      Posted on 1 April 2009

It is rare and terribly expensive. I seriously doubt there is any real Indian Sandalwood in this scent. They don’t have tell you when they’re using synthetics, and for that matter, there’s no law that says the rose has to be from Grasse just because they say it is.

I like Victoria’s Secret. I can’t afford La Perla, hell I can’t afford V.S. these days. They have *some* nice scents and merchandise. They are always mi-lined on blogs. I’m almost fifty. I hope something redeems them. Maybe these.
    sigh,

I can’t afford La Perla either! And have admitted many times that I don’t try the VS perfumes on skin since I can’t get samples: perhaps they’ve a hidden masterpiece I don’t know about.

I just went to VS today and smelled all four. They are very nice. The Cashmere is my favorite one followed by the Lace. Now all I have to do is to get one of them. But which one do I get?

    • Robin
      Posted on 7 April 2009

I’ll be no help, haven’t tried them yet! Glad to hear another report that they’re nice, though.

Gave the bottles a quick sniff and tried Lace, the most interesting, on skin. Cashmere is sweet (SWEET), Satin was sour-ish, and Silk… I can’t remember. And this was maybe 80 minutes ago.

Lace one-upped Infusion de Fleurs de Oranger. Really. Lace doesn’t change like IFD (that’s an ugly acronym; so much so I hope it’s not a cult classic. Kinda sounds like an agency or something: International ‘Fume Department ;D ). It doesn’t have the 3D orange top note that IFD has for literally 30 seconds. On the plus side, it doesn’t dry down to some cheap white musk. It would smell better as a soap but I prefer it. Hands down.

Thanks — will have to go try Lace!

I totally agree. I was so pumped for Infusion Fleur d’Oranger and was very disappointed when I finally tried it, but Lace is really delightful. Linear, but beautiful… although that might just be my weakness for orange blossom. Hooray for unexpected surprises!

A follow-up comment, I tried the cashmere and lace scents on Monday and liked both. The sillage was moderate, and staying power about 6 hours.
I would like to try another sniff, b/c my allergies are acting up but I think I’d still like them a lot. The bottles are also very pretty in person too!

Tried all 4 at the store. Ended up with Lace which in the store had the best dry down. Wore it today at work. On me, I was pleasantly surprise with its last power. Sprayed it on at 8 am. Now at 3 PM, it is still giving off a nice light fragrance. It has lasted longer than more expensive products that I have purchased from niche perfumers. I have not bought a Victoria Secret’s perfume in many years except for those travel sizes that you can get at discount or free with purchase.

Glad you found one you liked! How aquatic is that one?

      • mathumom

To me, it is not aquatic at all since I do not tend to favor the aquatic fragrances.
