David Beckham will launch David Beckham Pure Instinct (above left) in March. The new fragrance for men is a limited edition flanker to 2005′s Instinct, and follows Intense Instinct, which launched in 2007, and Instinct After Dark, which launched in 2008.
Pure Instinct captures David Beckham’s “elegance and sensuality” in a fresh fragrance featuring notes of grapefruit, black pepper, cardamom, sage, rosemary, lavender, tobacco leaves, oakmoss and cedar.
David Beckham Pure Instinct will be available in 30 ml Eau de Toilette. (via cosmoty.de)
Avon has launched Chic in Black (above right), a new fragrance for women:
A classic mingling of sweet fruits, fragrant flowers and rich woods.

OK, Orwellian 'ten minute hate' coming up…what IS it with the Beckhams? When are they going to just go back home to Milton Keynes or Hemel Hempstead or their true spiritual homes and stop inflicting this terrible plague of de-haute-en-bas, patronising and frankly insulting marketing on the rest of us???

Leaving aside my opinions on DB's “elegance and sensuality” which would have to be based on nothing more than what I've read so worthless anyway (did/do love him as a footballer though) – the notes to his fragrance sound lovely. I will get over my snobbery and go sniff this on the basis of them alone. Didn't LT give a reasonably good review of one of DBs?

I can't remember what LT said, but Instinct (the original) is not a bad scent at all.
