Now, 5 hours after I applied Astor Place, the similarities to PH are gone. Now It smells more like Natsumi by Annayake. And the girly feeling is also gone.

Astor Place is nice, but I am not ready to pay 220€ for something which is just nice.

It probably tips the scales towards feminine, but a man could wear it I think...just depends on the man I guess! Didn't notice the PH resemblance, will have to try them together.

Today I've got some Bond No. 9 samples and Asor Place was one of them. After testing it I am sure ist has big similarities to Paris Hiltons first fragrance. Astor Place is more fresh and subtle but to my nose it is still Paris Hilton. I let my mother smell it and the first thing she said was something like: ,,I have smelled that before... Is that the Paris Hilton perfume?"

I'm wondering why they are marketing it to men and women. Astor Place is very girly. I think too girly for most men.

I need to keep an eye out on +bay at commercial equipment for sale. Perhaps I can pick up a bargain but the running costs would be phenomenal. I really haven't had any major issues with spoilage but I do keep them in the dark out of direct heat. I have definitely stopped buying as many as I used to but still get a bottle most weeks. Today I got Miller et Bertaux Spiritus. Very nice.

like I said---my new hero!

I know just what you mean---I want to have everything ! Okay, maybe not everything.....maybe half the stuff I try. I have had a couple of fragrances turn on me after a couple of years....but I used to be bad about leaving certain things out on the bathroom countertop (too warm, too much light I guess) stuff in the fridge never turns it seems.

I bet your friends do like to come over and play in your perfume cabinets....I want to come over and play in them too!!!! As for an addition rather than stop buying---naturally! how dare anyone even insinuate you should stop, cretins!!! But if you do put on a dedicated "perfume room" maybe you should do a huge walk in fridgerator like restaurants have or a wall of built in, glass front coolers like wine afficiandos have.....okay, give me a minute, I'm lost in the perfume-room fantasy.........

I haven't cos I am too lazy but maybe one day. I almost want to keep it due to it's hidiousness. I love the look on unsuspecting people when they smell it.

I have no cooling for these cos I would need at least two huge fridges but they are in four thee door buffets which keep out the light. I have never had a problem with anything going off and strongly believe that in most cases it is a fallacy that fragrance goes off. The very high content of alcohol pretty much pickles the contents I have found. People always joke that I will have to build another room on the house soon but it isn't as far fetched as they think. I would much rather spend the money doing renovations then, GASP, stop buying. Everyone I know loves to come and play in my perfume cupboards. I do take it for granted a little though. I am not sure if I am to be a role model. I really think that a small thoughtfully picked out collection is the epitome of perfume admiration but frankly, I don't have the self control and want EVERYTHING!

You're probably right about "kiss of death" -- but then again, they're marketing to a pretty niche audience so maybe it won't matter.

VERY fast. I got an e-mail about Brooklyn from Bond No. 9 on January 19th and got the press pack and sample about eight days later--and they're already launching another new scent? How can they keep up this pace?

The bottle is KILLER. I thought Brooklyn was my instant favourite (with Bleecker Street a close second), but this one really takes the cake, and without even smelling the contents I want it very very much..

I can't help but think that calling a scent "unisex with a feminine tendency" is the kiss of death if you're aiming to sell it to men. Women will buy a masculine-slanting unisex scent, which is why most unisex fragrances read as masculine, but most men will cower in terror from any scent with even the slightest whiff of the feminine, babies that they are.
