They are being Sold here in Buenos Aires through Drugstores and small perfume stores. I have not seen them in the chains (Rouge, etc) There is a pharmacy in Libertador avenue, on the corner of Patio Bullrich Shopping Center that carries them.

Here in Buenos Aires, during the 90′s when the dollar was 1:1 with the peso, all the pharmacies and mom and pops perfume stores in the neighborhood street shops had an incredible assortment of perfumes.

So I have seen this in old pharmacies, which is not the same as the US drugstores. Here the pharmacies are (still and without the exception of a big chain) a dedicated store that sells medicines and toilette stuff, brushes, perfumes, deodorants, shampoos, etc.

And many are REALLY old, like 50+ years old, and some about 100 (not many, but I could tell you about 10 of those from the top of my head)

I am going to try Demeter’s, perhaps their Ginger is better.

I tried them today, so here’s a quick micro-review:

Melissa and Verbena: More Verbena than Melissa, very similar to L’occitane Verbena, but a tad less strong.

Vetyver- Bergamot: I think the smells cancel each other out.. I could almost not smell this! I will try again just to make sure that my nose was not overwhelmed by testing.

Royal Riesling: This smells like old cologne in my book, like granpa drugstore after bath splash that comes in a 250ml plastic bottle.
But I must admit that it is a bit more classy than that… It just smells not too sophisticated for me.

Citrus Ginger: I am tempted to buy this. It smells of sherbet and of the lemon-citrus note on burberry weekend. The ginger is hard to spot, but it is there if you look hard enough. It looks promising for layering.

I will try the vetyver bergamot again and probably will get a bottle of citrus ginger for layering this next summer (we just entered spring!)
