Mariah Carey Luscious Pink Deluxe Edition ~ new fragrance

Mariah Carey has launched a new Parfum version of last year’s Luscious Pink fragrance:

Introducing Mariah Carey’s Luscious Pink Deluxe Edition, a collector’s luxe parfum fragrance.

Inspired by love and the richness it brings to one’s life, Luscious Pink Deluxe Edition is the ultimate in sensuality and luxury and the purest essence of the original Mariah Carey’s Luscious Pink fragrance.

Mariah Carey Luscious Pink Deluxe is $75 for 50 ml Parfum extrait, and can be found now at Elizabeth Arden. As with last year’s M by Mariah Carey Gold Deluxe Edition (the Parfum version of M by Mariah Carey), it is being advertised as a $600 value. Many thanks to JloveLamar for the tip!

I don't want to be vulgar but in all honesty it would be hard to make that bottle look more like genitalia unless they actually used a plaster cast.

LOL — gee thanks, now that's all I can see!

lol – my first thought was that it looked like something that would come with a Barbie ensemble.

    $600 value. uh-huh.

even I'm not really excited by this one – I'd prefer it if she came out with something new.

Goodness… didn't think about that at all, until now! :0

I wouldn't be surprised if she came out with another one before the year is out. It's only Jan. I can't WAIT to get this. I hope my MACY'S will get it soon

It's funny that you would say the unsaid, pyramus, since I was thinking the same thing after seeing the new bottle. There's also the unfortunate matter of its name. And I've only just gotten over being able to say “Juicy Couture” to myself without laughing.

“We're offering this lovely, sophisticated fragrance at the lowest price imaginable! Because you'll be buying straight from the manufacturer, you won't pay the retail of $600, not $400, and not even $100 dollars! If you call now, you can own Mariah Carey Luscious Pink Deluxe Edition for one easy payment of only $75 dollars! And don't forget to ask our operators about the free “I'M A SUCKER!” T-shirt, designed by Mariah Carey herself! WHAT A DEAL!”

I can't even IMAGINE what these people were thinking.

lol how would it be a $600 value?
A lot of people say they liked her M perfume, so I've been meaning to try it but whenever I go to Sephora to try perfumes I never actually do.
Roasted marshmallows are one of my favorites scents although I'd usually prefer it out of my perfume
And I'm really not into the bottle. I like the Hanae Mori butterfly bottle… but that's a lot more abstract and butterflies are Mariah's ~*thing*~

Just because she can sing does not mean she knows anything about scents.

it's kind of easy to reply to a comment when you want to reply to the entry, so I'm not sure if this was actually supposed to be a reply to my comment…

but I know that and luckily the perfume was created by other people who do know about scents.

Krokodilgena, beats me — even Chanel does not charge $600 for parfum.

and what makes Chanel the Scent gurus? What about Givenchy? What about Juicy Couture? They ALL do the SAME thing Mariah Carey does when picking a scent

Have they started targeting toddlers and preschoolers? 3 – 5 seems the right age group for this.

At 6, girls want the Barbie fragrance or, if they get a flowery Oilily bag, it comes with a small girly bottle. Think I'd rather buy the Oilily fragrance, it's flowery and pretty and childish and never pretends to be anything else.

Are Oilily fragrances available in the US, like their bags and clothes?

Entirely true! Although Chanel, at least, has an in-house nose.

    De nada :-)

Yes, there are Oilily boutiques here. Don't know how many, but there's one fairly near me.

This fragrance doesn't smell at all like it's geared that young, at least, not to me. IIRC, it's geared mostly towards the Asian market.

I'm a bit surprised EA are milking this fragrance. To me it was very boring.

Sounds like you need one :-)

Good grief! My husband said the same. Yuck! At the very least it's juvenile looking.

If the fragrance was nice enough for me to buy, I'd keep the bottle in a brown paper bag.

Not that I care for Mariah Carey, but the scent did win an an award according the The Perfumed Court. I'm getting a sample of it along with their “Best Of” sampler. hope I don't like it, it sounds too gourmet for me and too cutesy for a bottle.

    Joy,

    Becca

Its starting to sell very well, I assume. My Macy's keeps selling out. Since the commercial started playing, and a HORRIBLE commercial I might add, we can't keep stock! I hope we get this soon

Amanda, I think it was primarily aimed at the Asian market.

I saw this at my local Macys but the sales associate (like many Macys) did not let me smaple! The bottle looks much more pretty in real life…..

You mean there was a tester & they wouldn't let you use it???

I think what they mean is they had the bottle in display inside the glass. They won't test those.

I got it yesterday! Now all I need is Vera eang's Rock Princess (my number 1 anticipation!), Jennifer Lopez Sunkissed Glow, Vera Wang princess and Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely Collection!

Congrats! Have you smelled the SJPs yet? I've been too lazy to run over to Ulta.

I hadn't ever heard of Ulta until I came on here. I don't even think we have one of those around here. I haven't smelled SJP's new ones yet. That's why I HAATE these “Exclusives” with a passion! Why not just freakin release them EVERYWHERE?! I have a feeling I'll like Twilight and Endless.
