Hey AnnS, (fellow Montale worshipper) This is one of the few I have yet to try. Any idea how it compares to Oriental Flowers?

Very late comment to this thread - Andrea if you are still reading this.....

I just received a bunch of samples from TPC, and one that I'd randomly picked was Montale's Powder Flowers. Holy cow! This is the most beautiful powder frag I've ever smelled. It starts off very similar to No 5 Eau Premier, but once it hits the heart notes, it stays very consistent - warm powdery osmanthus, heliotrope with a bit of dry incense type accord. It is just beautiful, remarkable. The lasting power is amazing - even over night I can still smell the sample. Even if you don't pick it for your big day, as a powder lover, you should try to get a sample of this...It is very sophisticated like No 5, No 22, Tient de Niege, Baghari, etc, but just more perfect. It's hard to explain. This one has skyrocketed to the top of my must buy list, as soon as funds are available. Good luck.

I feel exactly the same about B by Boucheron, which I only just discovered, yet it slipped my mind. Very expensive ingredients, according to the SA in Harrods, and it does have that special occasion vibe too, as Robin says.

Spring Flower came to mind but I had thought it had a green elemant to it? Also, I didn't see any vanilla notes or anything that would make it smoother so didn't sample it but I will try it on my next batch from Les Senteurs!

I had tried NR For Her as I read it was very similar to SJP Lovely but I found it alot heavier and spicier and didn't really like it at all. Not at all light/powdery on me I'm afraid!

All my friends got married in Narciso Rodriguez For Her! Soft, powdery, smells like sexy skin, you put the Musc Oil on your skin so people smell you when they get close, and the eau de toilette or Parfum for the sillage. Sensual and kind of virginal :)

Taking in everything suggested and my own Cruel Gardenia (It has a *solar* gardenia note). I find with some research the Guerlain's are just sticking. I think the Apres L' Ondee (Lord it's expensive and hard to find!), and Jardin's De Bagatelles sound heavenly.

L' Instant by Guerlain is the only one not mentioned. I just saw it and the way it's described sounds like it was created for a moment like a wedding, and it's a mainstream Guerlain and not high priced. ...just an idea. Oh, and one more often over looked little gem-Fleur De Privee by Givenchy. Don't let the top fruits throw you, it's a beautiful soft floral and the bottle is exquisite.

Blessings to you and your fiancee!
