Many people love them though -- they're very convenient. On my own there were several of the private blends that I liked and from which I couldn't really choose, or didn't want to - not sure I'd ever have bought any of them on their own, but they are fun to smell all at once and I love having samples of all of them. As far as packaging, it's nothing impressive, but it still makes a cool gift, and as far as price, well, I didn't pay for it! I would like to know what's wrong with rollerballs, though...?
