Carol's Daughter Pearls, Lavanila Vanilla Spice ~ new fragrances

Carol's Daughter Pearls perfumeCarol’s Daughter has launched Pearls, a new fragrance for women:

Pearls is the first fine fragrance from the kitchen of Carol’s Daughter. A timeless, elegant fragrance that emerges from the spirit of family tradition and symbolizes the matchless bond between loved ones—Pearls is nature’s gift. At first breath, the scent embraces the feminine sparkle of bergamot and lemon and the vibrant impression of anise and verbena, along with the luscious aspect of apricot and peach. The fragrance evolves into a voluptuous floral heart of intoxicating jasmine, rose, and violet leaves smoothly blending the fresh sensation of clean aldehydes. The dry down radiates warmth with notes of musks and vanilla wrapped around the sensuality of caramel, further enhancing its allure.

Carol’s Daughter Pearls is available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette ($45), and can be found now at Sephora.

Lavanila Vanilla Spice perfumeAlso new at Sephora, Vanilla Spice from Lavanila:

Treat yourself to the ultimate healthy indulgence for holiday—Vanilla Spice Healthy Fragrance from LAVANILA Laboratories, available exclusively at Sephora. This delectable, limited-edition scent evokes warmth, comfort, and well being. Pure essential oils of nutmeg, sandalwood, and cardamom blend with soft Madagascar vanilla for a long-lasting, seductively rich scent that is captivating and alluring. Elegant gold metallic packaging adds a festive finishing touch, wrapping up this perfect pampering present, for yourself or another special someone.

Lavanila Vanilla Spice is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum for $56.

Other recent launches from Carol’s Daughter include Lemon Blossom & Sotto; from Lavanila, Vanilla Coconut.

Love the packaging on Pearls…wonder if the juice is any good.

Wow! Who wrote the copy for Pearls? It sounds like that person really knows perfume jargon. I wonder who the perfumer is, because this sounds like a very professional job on their part.

Packaging is nice. I love pearls.

Agree — although I'm mostly taken with the outer box, which I'd throw away anyhow.

Pearls does sound very beautiful/pretty. It will be interesting to smell what is being done with a “modern” aldehyde. Mabye it will bring aldehydes to the youth market.

If the Vanilla Spice smells anything like the one at Body Shop it will be perfect for the holidays. I like the LaVanila Grapefruit, so will give this one a try. Wish it came in the rollerball like the Grapefruit, then I would be more likely to actually buy it.
Pearls seems worth a sniff, as well, and I do like the bottle. Although it does seem like every fragrance coming out opens with bergamot.

I also like the Vanilla Grapefruit from the LaVanila line.

I work nights and Sephora and unpacked these boxes last night around midnight. We didn't have any testers ready, so all I could do was gaze lovingly at the packaging. Got some Lavanila candles, too – huge ones.

I know Sephora has some, and so does Macy's. Not even sure how to send for samples, but maybe they sell them on the website?

I've no idea if this is a “youth-oriented” brand or not — didn't think it was, but don't know.

The bergamot thing isn't new — it's often added to citrus blends in the top notes.

Maybe the rollerball for Vanilla Spice is still coming…

I don't think I ever tried any of them on skin — but I'm not a huge vanilla fan. This new one does sound nice though.

Hope you'll get to smell it soon!

Oh I know bergamot is not new – maybe it is just that lots of citrusy things are around. Joseph Schmidt chocolates makes a bergamot truffle that tastes like very rich Earl Grey.

So far Grapefruit is the only rollerball in the line. I can only hope! Unless I don't like it, then I don't care!

Oh, I didn't know — thought all the earlier ones were in rollerballs. And I want that truffle :-)

I can be your informer! It's a fun place to work, actually. I had heard horror stories, but everyone is pretty cool so far.

BTW, spent about an hour breathing this scent in the other night – can't really decide how I feel about it yet. Lots of white flowers and very sharp to my nose at first. Not what I was expecting. Has anyone else tried it?

The Pearls Fragrance sounds like it will be deliciously magical! :-) love the in depth care taken to describe the fragrance rather than glossing over the script in a rote manner! Love Love Love LOVE Peach and Apricot in Fragrance and then add Jasmine and Vanilla AND ROSE…. Well, Love is in the Air! :-) I hope it smells well and hope for the price point it isn't a disappointment!

I was in Sephora over the past weekend but didn't see it…will certainly try it when I can!

At the store I work at, we have Pearls out, but no Lavanila, no matter how hard I beg them to get it out on the floor (or 'stage', as we call it). Pearls starts out with a blast of white flowers and laundry detergent, but then calms down into a soft, soapy vanilla, with perhaps a hint of coconut? It's not my kind of scent. The bottle isn't as pretty up close, but the box is still lovely. I think this would be a nice perfume for a teenager or pre-teen, but it doesn't strike me as very adult. Since the marketing materials remind me of dressing up in my mom's jewelry, I can't tell if my feeling of this as a 'young' scent has been marred by the company verbage, or if I just don't like soapy scents on mature women.

Interesting, doesn't sound quite as upscale as the ad copy.

Well, my local Sephora is now carrying C's Daughter scents, though not these new releases yet…I sniffed the Ocean perfume today, but was not taken with it.

Macy's should have some of them too. Haven't seen Pearls anywhere yet though.
