Britney Spears Curious Heart ~ new limited edition collector bottle and contest

Britney Spears Curious Heart fragranceComing this month from Britney Spears, Curious ♥ Heart, a new limited edition collector bottle of her popular Curious fragrance:

The bottle has the same multi-faceted glass silhouette, but is designed in a shade of pale pink. Along the rim are alternating fleur de lis and heart symbols, and embossed on the pale pink bottle is an image that resembles a tattoo: a heart with sprawling wings. The magenta atomizer remains in keeping with the bottle’s timeless Hollywood look.

Each bottle of Curious ♥ Heart will come with “an exclusive membership card, which contains a secret password”. Holders of the password* can sign in at curiousheartbritneyspears each month to win prizes, including a Nintendo Wii package, a trip to New York or a video iPod.

Britney Spears Curious ♥ Heart will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum for $49.50; the contest runs through May. (via press release from britneyspears)

Isn't it funny that even Britney goes for the vintage charme of sprays with ball? It was Prada to start the trend, am I right? Some days ago I saw Armani Code Femme in a bottle with a ball to spray and the latest scent of Yves Rocher has it, too. Seems to become epidemic.

You know, I've no idea who started the modern bulb atomizer trend. Might have been Prada. They're pretty, but they aren't a good idea for long term storage so I don't like them.

Even putting aside that it's a Britney Spears product: damn, that is one ugly bottle!

I guess so, but it's fun-kitsch in a way — I like it WAY more than the original Curious bottle, which I thought was just plain hideous.

Actually Britney did another ball spray for the original Curious. I think when it came out in '04.

Yes, so she did, I'd forgotten!

I seem to recall seeing some atomizers as a child (1960's), and being told that they tend to deteriorate. Perhaps newer synthetic materials are more resilient, but there would still be exposure to air, no?

And that is really one hideous bottle. Although I can see my 11-year old niece thinking it was cool.

Prada was launched in 2004. Gaultier Le Male was launched in 1995, and originally had two put-ups, the usual spray that is still on the market and the bulb atomizer, to fit in with the barbershop theme.

I don't know if Gaultier kick-started the modern trend, either (the bulb version wasn't on the market for very long), but he beat Prada by years.

It's very Betsey Johnson-ish! Cute, although I'm not a fan of Ms. Spears.

Most fragrances these days that come w/ a pump atomizer plus a regular spray have instructions not to use the pump for long term storage, so I think it is still a problem.

Interesting, that's an important argument against bulb atomizers. I only found them unpractical to use because one needs both hands to spray – or something to put the bottle on if one wants to spray perfume on the wrist.

I'm sorry, but this has to be the ugliest bottle HANDS DOWN!
I'm sorry, but that thing is a total eye sore!

I think the bottle is pretty cute…kind of like a prop in some little girl/ prom picturez, perhaps. Maybe Britney is starting to pander to the new “scene girl” craze…what with all the bright colors and bows that are popular now, it might just fly. I'm pretty interested in what the scent actually smells like- I'm betting not sophistocated. :) I find it incredibly amusing though that by buying the perfume you're innitiated into a “Britney Spears Perfume Club” or something of the sort.

LOL — I'll have to go Google “scene girl” — I'm way too out of it to even know what that is. Curious is not a massively sophisticated scent, no, but it's pleasant enough.

    I see only Stanzi & I are taken with it's kitsch/ironic possibilities :-)

Well, I'm a looooong-time Betsey Johnson fan, and this bottle is heavily influenced by BJ's style. There is nothing new under the sun. ;)

I second your view, buffy…I am sorry but it looks like a toy to me

Lord, am I the only one that likes the bottle? Hate the scent, hate the celeb, like the bottle. It has the tattoo kind of look to it.

What the heck is wrong with me?

The bottle is OK; I could do without the ‘tattoo’ design through.

I used to have the original 'Curious' atomizer bottle (I loved that bottle; the fragrance was used as air freshener; far too strong for me.). It broke.

Now you have to buy it :-)

If it broke, probably not worth buying this version just as air freshener :-)

Briteny Spears air freshener…That opens up a whole new door. Can you imagine? Gosh…I have to say that I'm at least a teensy bit tempted to buy this one just because the bottle is cute (but probably not for the price it's listed at now- think of all the samples I could buy for that!)…in a very “so garish/surreal it's hard to look away” sense. I bet my little sister would love it. :)

Don't be sorry…just run in the opposite direction! That is one trashy looking bottle in spite of it being an atomizer which I usually like.

Anyway, Britney was taken out of her home today in an ambulance. She has more to think about now then how this bottle sells.

Perhaps it will end up at the discounters — it isn't so very cheap for an air freshener!

To me this is so much a My Little Pony bottle.. something for very young girls.

Tried to imagine this bottle with diamonds and wondered if Elisabeth Taylor could get away with it..

    LOL at “My Little Pony”!

Nothing about the bottle declares “timeless Hollywood look” at all. Absolutely nothing. I think it's quite hideous.

The Britney Spears fragrance bottles with atomisers are notorious here for the juice going off very quickly – the perfume turns yellow and in some cases crystallises. Elizabeth Arden has had to entertain many exchange requests from customers.

It is already on counter at Macys — saw it there yesterday. But not a new fragrance, just a new bottle.

I'm a big Britney Spears fan, but I gotta say, that's not a very good bottle. It's not elegant at all. Nothing like how the original Curious bottle was.

I still love the fragrance though :D

    Nope, it isn't elegant!

I'm through with Curious. I think I wore it too much when it first came out. Not only that, but that damn Pump Thingy doesn't spray enough on you and the fragrance doesn's last very long. On top of that, after a couple of months the juice turns a nasty crusty YELLOW! Maybe thats why they changed the bottle. Too many folks were noticing the juice turns yellow

“Nasty crusty yellow” does not sound appealing :-)

Go get me, but CURIOUS itself got me today :-) it’s so fun and young and well-done!
I might get a head ache from it, don’t know yet, but if it comes my way for a really good price I would get it. Me, the queen of “I wear only niche!” Yay…
