Nina Ricci has introduced a limited edition follow-up to 2006's Nina fragrance for women. The new scent, Pretty Nina, is a fresh fruity floral in which Nina “reveals a new chapter of her fairy tale”:
The juice is fresher at the opening, with a grapefruit-caipirinha accord; and gentler at the heart, with fruity notes of green apple and raspberry melting with Sambac jasmine. The somewhat gourmand drydown blends apple wood, caramel, vanilla and musks.
Nina Ricci Pretty Nina is available in 50 ml Eau de Toilette. It can be found now at Sephora in France, and will presumably make its way to the US eventually. (first quote via sephora.fr, second via osmoz)

Well Robin, I have this one… oh well the Nina from 2006 and from all the candy-type of fragrances I liked Nina the best together with Dior Addict2.
Both fragrances reminded me of my childhood and the candystore run by an elderly couple, where we children went to pay a visit as soon as we had our pocketmoney
which was about 10 cents per week.
Gosh I could never imagine that I would write this once down on a weblog.
These are sweet memories.
And that litthe candystore smelled like lollypops, bazooka chewinggum, black licorice, licorice powder, licoriceroot, candystick, and a few more other candyproducts.
I guess that didn't mean much to him for he is of the generation that buys big bags of candy at a time…;) .
My children smile politely but they don't really have a clue.

I'm only commenting because “caipirinha accord” is a new one for me and makes me laugh. Marketing is always on the hunt for new accords to throw in the list, eh?
Yep! But this one's been around. Other fragrances claiming to have a caipirinha accord: Alessandro Dell'Acqua Woman in Rose, MPG Bahiana, Frederic Malle Outrageous, Esprit Life for Men, Benetton United. And, I think the original Nina as well.
Yes J. there is 'some caiparinha' in the original Nina. I could smell it, the lime and the rum. Think it is quite nice. I have Nina but I don't wear it, it is just for the nice memories that I bought a 30 ml bottle.
Nina is for younger women, or it is a younger generation fragrance whatever. In the basenotes there is some fine applewood.

I think that this may be the same reason I keep the bottle I have (I also don't wear it). Well two reasons really…I'll admit to being a sucker for packaging! The apple is “fairytale” adorable.
I guess I am in the minority, but I hated the previous one and I have a feeling I am gonna hate this one too. Of course I am biased – I have a bottle of the really 'original' Nina which was a beautiful floral fragrance and I love it with such pathos I was prepared to hate the new Nina from the first moment I saw it… It didn't help that I found it sweet enough to give me a toothache..
The packaging really is super cute.
I just recently tried the vintage Nina. Whole 'nother ball game, and I can see why you'd hate the new one.
Is the scent to which you are referring just called “Nina Ricci”? I am intrigued – I'm yearning for really nice, sophisticated florals right now – they help assuage my SAD. I assume that since you're calling it vintage that it's discontinued? *sigh*
Existentialist: It was called Nina by Nina Ricci – a supremely elegant and unique floral fragrance of the 80s. It is indeed discontinued and completely replaced by the new “Nina by Nina Ricci” in the apple shaped flacon which bears no resemblance to the original.

I love this Pretty version than the red one, less citrusy. It makes me happy. It makes me feel younger even though I am 40ish. Nice apple bottle. Like snow white.
