Katie Price Besotted ~ new fragrance

Katie Price Besotted fragrance

UK celebrity Katie Price (aka Jordan?), has launched Besotted, a follow-up to her debut scent, last year’s Stunning. Price noted that…

I’m really excited about it as I smelt so many smells to get the scent right – it’s fresh and fruity. I love it.

I could not find any further details on the scent itself, but Price also noted that “Now everyone has seen my new boobs, and I hope I’ve made the public happy”. (first quote via ok.co.uk, second quote via metro.co.uk)

Update: almost immediately after posting, I found a description:

Besotted, which features top notes of lemon and grapefruit, middle notes of Lily of the Valley and dries down to a base vanilla and amber, will retail from £18 for 50ml. (via cosmeticsbusiness)

Her customer base is probably after the fresh & fruity though. Or perhaps they'll buy anything she makes so long as she shows off the boobs, who knows.

maybe it should have been called “Boobsotted”?

That sounds hilarious. I won't be buying, but don't you secretly wish one of these would be fabulous? I think the Beckhams aren't supposed to be terrible… have not tried.

    Sounds… boring.

But Jordan's first fragrance is the UK's best selling celeb fragrance. She has a large fan base.

It would be very comical for us all be desperately trying to get our hands on the UK only Katie Price Besotted, yes!

That's what I hear. Hard to believe!

You know, I think many a sentence about Jordan probably started with 'She has a large', but I doubt if any of them ever emded with 'fan base'. Kudos!

I can't help myself; I really like Katie. She's transformed herself and comes across really sweet and smart in interviews. Her devotion to the children is what made her win over even the most resilient haters. I won't run out to get the fragrance but I'll still admire Katie for her strength.

If someone had told me five years ago that Katie Price's perfume (of all things) would be one of my favourites I wouldn't have believed them! She definitely has changed the public's view of her. Stunning is very sweet but strong – it's always reminded me of Miss Dior Cherie and I can't wait to try the new one…just hope it doesn't disappoint….

I had no idea who she was until I read about her in the NYTimes Sunday magazine: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/magazine/14price-t.html?partner=rssnyt

Fresh and fruity? Doesn't sound like it's for me, but then I'm positive that I'm not her target market!

“I'm really excited about it as I smelt so many smells to get the scent right – it's fresh and fruity. I love it.”

Oh my goodness! When I first read that I thought it was Robin saying that! I thought I was going crazy

Here's a piece on her – including her success in the USA – from this weekend's papers.

LOL….ok ok…maybe Katie Price is so over the top……BUT her parfum is very nice, i bought her first one and my daughter loves it and YESSSSSSS she does have a very large fan base in the UK. And her parfums are definitely geared towards a younger crowd.

No offence to anyone here. But since when is loving one's brats medalworthy? From what I hear it's quite natural for most people with offspring. What are her scientific/artistic … any achievements? (Huge implants? Those are quite commonplace these days.)

Perfumery is an art, so what's her name doing anywhere near it? But as long as there are people wanting the stuff, there's no hope of an end.

There really is no hope of an end. All I can say is that at least in the US, we don't get all these B-list scents the way they do in the UK. When we start getting fragrances from the wives of sports figures, I'll worry.

    Word, SC.

Okay, I'm weird: What the heck is she wearing? That's one of the ugliest nighties….

  24. Anonymous
    Posted on 26 September 2008

She is not wearing much. And she's considerably more covered in this pic than she was in some of the others.

  25. Anonymous
    Posted on 27 September 2008

You're quite right about B- list …. Z-list more like actually.

Wasn't the term “white trash” coined in the States? Anyway, it's been reinvented with a vengeance here in the UK. Sorry to sound snobbish, but it's sickening.

At least that sort won't spoil real perfumes for us, one hopes.

Wow, why so critical….she has a great body, even if she bought the boobs………btw, if i am not mistaken the US markets many perfumes based on people i rather not see or want to be like. And how about Desperate Housewives Perfume….give me a break…AND one more thing…if i had a body like that i would flaunt it too (just being honest)

We get the same trashy celebrities though…just don't think they get perfumes quite as easily.

Don't think anything I said implied that there weren't plenty of celeb perfumes here from “people I'd rather not see or be like” :-)

LOL….just have to laugh how people hate her so much……aren't we supposed to comment on her parfum. Truly i don't care what she wears, if her fragrances are great it would not matter to me….. its just funny, it made me laugh. Like i said before her fragrances are definitely geared towards a younger crowd…..i bought Stunning for my daughter and she loves it.

If her fragrances were great, I'd wear them happily, no doubt. But will never know since they're not sold here, and really, people can comment on whatever they like so long as they're not nasty to other readers.

Don't know about others here, but I use the words “I hate” for those who torture animals or exploit defenseless people.

This person here isn't worth hating, she embodies uselessness. Most other “celebrities” have at least done “something”.

But even then, what do any of them, useless or otherwise, have to do with the art of perfumery? These things are all distorted these days.

And why assume that young people can only appreciate juvenile themes and foody scents? Of course, some of these scents are pleasant, but the whole concept is fake and shallow. Someone here wrote about a teenager buying herself No 5. So for all one knows, maybe young people buy the stuff because it's always thrown at them and not because it's all they would naturally enjoy.

    Posted on 2 October 2008

Unless I missed something, nobody here said they hated her?

But I do think there's plenty of evidence that young people, in general, prefer sweet perfumes.

What makes a Designer more qualified to do a perfume? The only person who should be praised for “The art oe perfumery” should be the people who actually work on the fragrance. Armani didn't do anything different than Paris Hilton. Please explain the difference.

    Posted on 2 October 2008

Would agree w/ that. Still, some of these celeb scents just seem comical — I mean, it's as though some designer that only had clothing in K-Mart had a perfume, you know? Although some such designer probably does have a perfume…

    Posted on 2 October 2008

Someone did say, before my previous long comment, how strange that some hate her. Really how strange.

Anyway, Armani is a designer himself. Perfumes aren't completely unconnected. It's natural he'd emplay experts for it though. Though it would be best if the perfumers did get the main credit.

But why would you name a perfume after yourself if you have no connection whatsoever with any kind of design?

There are definitely people I admire, but I don't need their names on my perfumes. But as far as I know they have better things to do.

There's a thread referring to Helen Mirren along the same lines.

It is true that someone did say others hate her, but nobody here said they hated her. And have to disagree — don't see why designing clothes makes you any more qualified to “design” perfume than anyone else, and in fact, most designers simply hire creative directors who then work with the perfumers. It isn't much different than how it works with celebrities.

That's why I freakin LOVE You, Robin! I love how I can come onto this blog and get an unbiased review on a celebrity's fragrance. Most perfume blogs call themselves reviewing the celeb's fragrance, but they're really reviewing the celeb's personal life. I can really come on here and get a real unbiased review from you. I trust your nose more than my own sometimes.

Not horrible, but not very unique either.

It's like sticking your nose into a bag of jelly babies. Very light; good for summer. Lasting power is quite poor.

    Pretty bottle & pink juice.

I love the smell of it when you first spray it – it's quite fruity. when it dries tho it's completely different; the only way I can think to describe the smell is like it's one part of a perfume or a perfume that's unfinished!?! maybe it's just my skin, but i wish the overall smell was how it is initially.

Guessing they did not spend much on the formula.
