Burberry The Beat For Men ~ new fragrance

Burberry The Beat For Men cologneBurberry has launched the masculine counterpart to The Beat For Women, introduced earlier this year. According to Burberry’s Creative Director, Christopher Bailey, The Beat For Men…

…captures all the characteristics of the beat man, it’s masculine, effortless and distinctive with a modern, original identity.

Like the women’s scent, The Beat For Men was inspired by music. Perfumers Olivier Polge (who also worked on The Beat For Women) and Domitille Bertier were reportedly given music from the bands The Fratellis, Razorlight, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys.

The result is a fresh woody fragrance with notes of leatherwood, vetiver bourbon, cedrat, black pepper and violet leaves accord.

Burberry The Beat For Men is available in 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette; matching grooming products are expected to launch later in the year. It is exclusive to Bloomingdales through early next year. (quote via burberryusaonline, additional information via wwd)

I've decided I most definitely like the Burberry line, so I'll look forward to sampling this. The notes sound great on paper too. Too bad it's exclusive to Bloomies, which I've never lived in proximity to. Maybe I should try to wrangle something out of a college friend who works for Burberry NA corporate. HA!

Bloomies is stingy with samples anyway — wrangle an extra one for me ;-)

Cool, distinctive container. If i remember well I liked the first impression of Beat for women sniffed from the bottle. Looking forward to it. Love violet leaves.

The “Beat Man”? Those aren't men, they're boys!

I like the bottle too. Too bad they're not doing an LE “intense” like they did for the women's…I thought that one was much nicer than the “regular” version.

Yeah the ad visual is doing nothing for me. Is it perhaps meant to evoke some soft rock group comprising punk rocker boys? Bleh.

Ah, I kind of like it! It “matches” the women's ad. But they are really awfully young.

I didn't mind the women's ad so much as it was just Agyness in different poses, with different expressions. But the men's… Kinda boring imo.

Still looking forward to trying the juice though.

You're right, I thought the same!! If you live in a UK university town you know who this is aimed at. They look like Agyness' little brother and his “gang”. Do you know the song “My little brother just discovered rock'n roll”… by ART BRUT? It so funny and kinda suits these kids.

This bottle looks a lot like Alessandro Dell Aqua bottles.
