One of my favorite scents is YSL Baby Doll and it has an opening of pomegranate and grapefruit-but they die down soon, And I like Annick Goutal's Petite Cheri, and she uses pear.

But it seems more and more fruit are the main notes instead of using them to enhance something. I like a bit of fruit, but I am tired of all the flies following me around ;D

Oh absolutely...you can even mix fruits and (my own dreaded) aquatic melon notes and make me love it: Frederic Malle Parfum de Therese.

It's funny, you know, but I bet that, in the hands of many a competent Nose, that basic list of notes could be pretty gorgeous. Imagine if vetiver came first, beefed up by sandalwood; the bergamot, orange blossom and honeysuckle filled in the middle while the base notes lingered on; and the fruit was just the freshest, cleanest counterpoint to the rest.

Of course, the result would make the average Candies purchaser drop the tester in shock, but you see my point.

I am finally understand niche, and there is NO going back.

Hate the name and the fruits. If the fruits don't over power the flowers and base notes, it actually sounds like a nice mixture. But apparently fruit is a requirement for mainstream fragrances these days.

Cosmopolitan? That must mean cherry, sigh.

The *Luxe* must stand for "Look kids we've added even more fruit!"

double sigh :(

Oh my god, everyone, every single brand is trying to go for that magical word: LUXE. When brands like hermes or comme des garcons launch luxury fragrances I can totally understand it, and it has it's reasons. But Candie's? What's next? Victorias Secret special luxe pink? Maybe Britney Spear's luxe fantasy?
