Mariah Carey Luscious Pink ~ new fragrance

Mariah Carey Luscious Pink perfumeMariah Carey will follow up on last year’s M by Mariah Carey with Luscious Pink, her second fragrance for women. Luscious Pink is described as a sparkling floral, and was designed to perform well in the Asian market where Carey has a large fan base.

Like M by Mariah Carey, Luscious Pink was developed by perfumers Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong, who noted that the new scent is “a floral melody that is as enveloping as Mariah’s voice”. The fragrance notes include bergamot, Ocean Breeze accord, sparkling Bellini accord, Tahitian Tiare, lily of the valley, pink peony, bright blond woods, creamy sandalwood and white musk.

Mariah Carey Luscious Pink will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body lotion. (via wwd) Update: see a review of Mariah Carey Luscious Pink.

I love butterflies, (but it's not as cute as AG's Petite Cherie's bottle) the juice doesn't sound like it'll send me….

Agree, the AG is cuter. I think I liked it better in purple (for M by Mariah Carey) too.

It will not be exclusive to Asia, so you won't have to wait.

I guess she is fairly luscious, but still.

Is the Ocean Breeze accord worrying anyone else?
I see they dropped the marshmallow that made the first one at least interesting. This sounds rather like everything else now.

M by Mariah Carey had “sea breeze accord” but it was pretty mild, as these things go. M was better than I expected, but even then can't say I loved it. We'll see what they do with LP, but agree it sounds less interesting.

Gross, right? I once worked as a bookkeeper for some porn spammers out near the galleria in Houston, and one of them wanted me to answer the phone as Luscious Pink. I flatly refused.

Hmm, I like the bottle, but the juice doesn't sound exciting. But, then again, I was surprised by M so I'll give this a try.

    Did you order?

    Posted on 24 July 2008

Oh no. I wouldn't ever pre-order a fragrance. I don't pre-order anything. I like to go to the store and actually see the product and with something like this I'll have to see it up close. I've been burned by ads of perfume bottles before (Believe Britney Spears.)

That being said, I'm not feelin the ad on EA's website either.

I haven't been able to smell the gold one cos the testers are always empty! really looking forward to this one, am a fan of all the celebrity ranges by elizabeth arden….that said, i wasn't quite as keen on 'wrapped with love'.

I thought the gold was just the regular parfum version in a new bottle, but perhaps I'm wrong.

^You're right. Its the regular fragrance but its pure Parfum. I have a question about that. Why do they make the fragrances that don't last that long?? Shouldn't designers want fragrances that last on you and you don't have to keep refreshing every 10 minutes??? Why doesn't everyone make their fragrances Eau De Parfum??

Bunch of factors here. Price is one. Another is that greater concentrations don't always last longer, and furthermore, not all perfumes lend themselves to EdP — many citruses, for instance. Patricia de Nicolai once explained that one of her scents which she'd tried to make stronger ended up “squat”, and I always thought that was a perfect description.
