I am about to spring for Prada Infusion d'Iris but what with all the awards it's been sweeping, so contrary, but it gives me pause. I don't want to be wearing something so mainstream and popular. It's a lovely scent, but I'm on the edge of abandoning it until everyone is chasing a new hot fragrance in 2 years.

OK. I must be digitally inept. How do I view the award winners from the Fifi MySpace page? Which link gets to it? Thanks! :-)

It has taken lots of awards, but I don't think it is so very widely worn…it isn't even widely distributed at this point. Marc Jacobs Daisy is another matter though!

On the right hand side, launch the “live blog”, then you have to click on “live blog” a second time on the next page. Or, wait until tomorrow when they'll probably have put them up on the Fragrance Foundation website.

“Derek Jeter wins the FiFI.” The first time those words have ever formed a sentence.

    LOL — so true!

In Germany Infusion d'Iris is # 8 of Douglas' current top ten list.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daisy became a real bestseller in the U.S: it's so clean!

Wow, is it? Ok, maybe I'm wrong.

    I was surprised, too.

I love Infusion d'Iris but contemplate on whether to buy it or not for the very same reason – fear of wearing something that is so widely known. But like R said it may not be widely worn. I've never actually smelt it on anyone which is quite strange really.

So surprising for me to see Eau d'Hadrien in the Hall of Fame. I just detest this fragrance. To me it smells of those yellow christmas tree shaped car fresheners that you often find in taxis. Maybe it's just me. Perhaps I am citrus notes' nemesis..

Gosh, reading that live blog and seeing the presenters' names made me feel a little sad … sort of like, when your agent gets you this gig, does it mean you're now below B-list? Dana Delaney! Matthew Modine! I loved them both in their day.

Then again, I guess Bernadette Peters was the MC, so maybe it's not so bad to be asked to do that event. Maybe it's the kind of thing that various levels of celebrity do all the time. I still can't help thinking that it seems like an indignity… sort of like, “We would have loved to have gotten Harrison Ford, but we were only able to get Matthew Modine.” Just a thought.

I don't detest it, but its appeal complete escapes me, too. And I love citrus.

It was an acquired taste for me, but I like it a lot now. Like others have commented, I've never smelled it on anyone else. One warning, though, if you buy it. Ask to sniff the bottle first. My hubby gave me a bottle for Mother's Day and it had gone completely dead – it was like spraying on water (though I suspect Nordstrom's sold him a tester that had been sitting out in bright light too long).

Looks like you have to become a MySpace “member” to view it. Oh well. I'll look it up elsewhere. Thanks! :-)

It is an absolute masterpiece I think.

If you want to go down the Iris route without wearing Infusion D'Iris, try Hiris by Hermes. I wear this, it's slightly smoother I think with a woody undernote which makes it wearable for men too.

yes, Hiris is one of my favourites! There are days when this is just the perfect fragrance to wear. =)

It is true! I don't even know if they're paid to present or do it for free — I know nothing about how these things work.

Yellow christmas tree shaped car fresheners, LOL! I think it is one of the more venerable citrus scents, but if you don't like citrus, you don't like citrus :-)

I don't think so — I'm not a member. But it should be elsewhere by now.
