Dsquared2 will follow up on their debut fragrance for men, He Wood, with an entry for women: She Wood, designed for the “cool girls who wear men’s scents”:
“We started from a men’s fragrance and made it feminine. We didn’t start off by saying let’s do woman’s fragrance,” said Dean Caten.
“It’s not that girly that we can’t wear it, I like doing fragrances that are a bit more unisex. Both of our scents are complementary and timeless,” Dan Caten added.
The woody floral scent was developed by perfumer Daphne Bugey. The notes feature three accords: light (lemon, jasmine, neroli), sap (violet, heliotrope and musk) and wood (cedar, vetiver and vegetable amber).
Look for Dsquared2 She Wood this September, when He Wood will also officially launch in the US. She Wood will be in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. (via wwd) Update: see a review of Dsquared2 She Wood.

Finally another fragrance that I am really looking forward to to try, both She Wood and He Wood.
I really like Daphne Bugey, but the men's was a tad “fresher” than I'd like — I do like it, but I don't love it. Kevin liked it better than I did, I guess. So hoping this one will be less “fresh”!
They have sure taken a long time to launch the men's in the US — but you should be able to find it somewhere!
I'd like to confiscate the world's supply of heliotropin or whatever it's called and tuck it away for awhile.
For some reason this made me think of the LT observation (?) that as you started cheapening the ingredients of some women's classic scents they started to smell like masculines.
I'd be just fine & dandy with that. Do it.
I was pondering whether or not I agreed w/ that observation, and decided I didn't. Either way, they are way more interested in the “appropriate gender” for specific fragrances than I am.
“They” meaning who? Turin & Sanchez? I didn't realize they were so hung up on gender.
He Wood is still languishing on my “to try” list… I'm not even aware if it ended up launching here in the states and/or who carries it. It sounds good, especially the violet leaf.
A feminine version of a men's fragrance, targeted at women who wear men's scents? Isn't that awfully stupid and reduntant, even if that bit is obviously just copy?
I don't know if it is accurate to say they're “hung up on gender”, but they do talk about it, and on a number of scents determine that they are more appropriately worn by the opposite gender of who they're marketed to. Wish I could remember an example but I can't offhand. It just isn't the way I look at perfume, I guess, but it's no doubt closer to the way most people look at it.
I kept waiting to see it in the US, but the article says September, at Nordstrom, Saks & Sephora.
I've seen Dsquared He Wood in Amsterdam last february and somehow did not get to try it then. Too many other frags came first. Maybe in june?
The juice's color and the fragrance's bottle reminds me of Prada Tendre. Well, it looks very interesting to me, as I love exactly this kind of woman fragrances.

Yes indeed it resembles Prada Tendre, only PT looks more refined, actually when thinking of Prada Tendre this looks kind of ugly
