The Madonna lily blooms at the height of summer, in July, where I live - it's funny to try think of it as a spring flower. It does smell like lily-of-the-valley on steroids to my nose, though.
I really enjoy the scent of them carried on the air in my garden, but in fragrance form I think it's a slightly scary flower, to be honest.

(...and they'd better have a hot, steaming mug of coffee blossom waiting with it! )

I also have to catch the original Trussardi and I have a feeling I should try it first. As for the lily potion, I'm not sure it will wear well on my skin. White notes often turn sour on me and when they don't, the result is something transcendentally ethereal...which is WAY too much for me to live up to.

I am not big on fruity florals either, but having never smelled either of the Trussardis, have no idea if I'd like them or not. So agree on that bow!!

i wish i could like lily. the flowers themselves smell wonderful, but anything remotely lily based turns into this bathroom air freshener sort of smell on my skin... i think i'll stick to woods, spices, jasmine and rose. no lily for this girl :(

i wonder if we need yet ANOTHER "light, fresh interpretation..." with spring coming around, i will be putting away my YSL opium and SL ambre sultan, and digging out something zestier (although spring in montreal is still ice and snow, even at the end of march), but not another "light, fresh, modern" scent... bleh. at least there's no vanilla sugar, lychee, raspberry martini, or "candied pink pepper" or something disgusting like that.

the only fruity florals i can stand are dolce and gabbana light blue (although i have issues about it's staying power, when it's there the green apple-citron mix is great), which most people don't even consider fruity, and the body shop cassis rose perfume oil (a great cheap thrill! because you get green freshly cut flower stems or something in the beginning, and on my skin it's more rose/musk and not so much cassis, thank god. the only place i want cassis is in my wine gums (the purple ones are great i don't even care if this is a grandma candy).

in the end the only fruit i really like in perfume comes from the citrus family... but nothing candied or anything like that... at least this one supposedly has teakwood as a note.

the bottle is pretty, although i wish it didn't have the ugly pink bow...

LOL at "Pirates of the Caribbean"! I never got to try the original Trussardi Inside, did you? I kind of like the sound of coffee & teak wood, actually.

And hey, we welcome a little bit of rowdy! And we complain over the meals too...where ARE those meals, anyway???

Mmm...there's nothing like a good cup of coffee blossom in the morning. Wait a second...teak...coffee "blossom"...sandlewood, musk and lemon...it's like the fragrance version of "Pirates of the Caribbean" ;D. Seriously, though, I like the dry duskiness of magnolia notes, so "Inside Delight" might turn out to be something I'd appreciate. Although, quince and kumquat--similar smelling--often turns my stomach (kumquat reminds me of rotting tuberose and melon).

Anyhow, Robin, we're a rowdy bunch on these comment boards. We drop our suitcases anywhere we like, expect to be served dinner well after 8pm, never stop with the annoying anecdotes (I speak only for myself, of course) and then complain over the meal. Just TRY to persuade us leave ;D.
