Thank you, Robin, for showing me the article! Yes, Angela is right, there is a strong connection between perfumes and emotions. I had a great sensation once when I smelled Le Baiser du Dragon for the first time. The composition of the perfume seemed to match my own personality - aparently strong (patchouli, vetiver), but deeply delicate and sensible (rose, iris). The flowers in it came so unexpectedly that it brought tears to my eyes. It only happened once, but it was fantastic! After this experience, I thought that maybe I cried too because I remembered my grandmother (who died when I was nine), who had a parfum with some notes like Baiser du Dragon. And she had a personality like this two - strong and delicate - , so it was a combination of two things: my memories and the sweetness of the flowers that appeared so suddenly from the "power" of the vetiver and the patchouli, exactly like a dragon's kiss. :-)

Yes, maybe the Parfum is a good try! The SA at the store told me that she did not know that the Parfum existed, so I just tried the Eau and the Elixir, which I did not like that much. Will look for the Parfum, thank you!

Thank you for the suggestion, Marianne! Will try it soon! The name kind of evokes what I'm looking for: a quiet (but misteriously sexy as Merveilles) and not too fussy fragrance...

Beautiful and so, well, colorful and effervescent!

I gave Eau de Merveilles EdP and the powder to my MIL for Christmas. She loves it.

I put Eau des Merveilles in a very special occasion: the defense of my thesis. It was great! I felt it had a powerful effect on me, as it is not a delicate nor subtil perfume, but an assertive one. Here's a good idea for a post: the associations between perfumes and emotional states. :-)
(Robin, it's the first time I write to you and I must say that here in Brazil you have a lot of constant and happy readers, myself included!) ;-)

I'd recommend starting with their 4AD debut, "Ask Me Tomorrow" and then "Out of Tune." "Spoon and Rafter", the album that contains "Bluebird of Happiness" (which, incidentally, was also used in a Hummer commercial here in the U.S.), is a terrific album, but I think it benefits by listening to where Mojave 3 started. Neil Halstead is one of my all-time favorite songwriters.

You can take a listen to some of their stuff here:
