Oh, for goodness' sake! Qu'est-ce qu'ils vont pas* encore inventer?! LOL!

(* bad grammar, but it's a familiar expression)

So true, so true! I've never been to a wax museum, and not sure this will tempt me in, LOL…

But of course, the possibilities are endless given how many celebrity fragrances there are now.

You haven't missed much. I went to the Paris one as a child and even then I didn't like it. The whole idea is preposterous. I can understand that people may have found this kind of thing interesting in the past (along with foetuses in jars, etc.), when there were no other representations of famous people, but these days… The Assassination of Marat (one of the scenes in the Paris Musée Grévin – recreated from the famous painting by David), or whatever, would be shown live on TV, like everything else, so what's the point of wax figures, that never look realistic?

Anyway, yes, a very good marketing ploy.

All true, but I do give Madame T's props for their amusing dressing and positioning of celebrity figures. During the whole Brad-Angelina-Jen scandal they dressed Jen as Snow White and Angelina as the wicked stepmother — really too perfect if you remember how annoying Snow White is in the Disney movie and how unutterably sexy the stepmother is–I always imagine her doused in Poison…

From Madame Tussad's blurb: “Book online today and you will be one step closer to meeting and smelling Kylie… ” Is it me, or does that sound incredibly creepy? I suppose wax figures themselves are fairly creepy anyhow (not as scary as animatronics, really, but still) but it's the “meeting and smelling Kylie” line that skeeves me out just a bit.

    Ugh!

I find wax figures *very* creepy: I've probably seen too many films where the figures are in fact corpses covered with a thin layer of wax that starts melting at some point in the film… aaaargh!
