Oh yes, the rice in Champaca! Plus, it's so spring-like and encouraging. Champaca is definitely the opposite of "invalid". I wonder if it might have people jumping out of bed too soon.

How about Champaca for invalid cookery, whatever that might be. Except Champaca is very valid...

Maybe Patou Joy? That's what I'll be feeling. Or 1,000? I love that one. Thanks so much for wishing me well, too. I have two job interviews lined up already (and not one of them involves smelling armpits!).

What an interesting selection of fragrances! It's always fun reading about perfume travels and associations. We got some big boxes in the mail recently and for the first time I realized how nice cardboard can smell.
Good luck with your job search! I can't think of a scent that smells *exactly* like money, so maybe you should use the "money tree" approach and pick one that evokes money? Like Chanel No. 5, Eau Sauvage, or one of the Patous?

Hurray! Thanks for the good news, B. I will track it down and it will be my first luxury purchase when I get a new job!

It *is* on the Export list: someone reported seeing it in Liberty. It's this year's LE.

Kenzo Amour sounds good and very comforting for invalid cookery. All my old cooking texts say that invalids are very sensitive to odors and tastes, and so a calm, milky scent is perfect.

Chene has now moved up to the top of my "what would I buy in Paris" list. I'm hoping Serge puts it on the export list.

Maybe Kenzo Amour for the invalid cookery? Very bland and comforting rice pudding, but with that weird sharp note over top. It reminds me of that first milky gelatinous pudding MFK Fisher made for her mother when mom was bedridden after having Fisher's brother. Mary Frances put berries on top to improve the presentation and her mother broke out in hives everywhere. I shall always remember the wheezing mother saying: "It was the most beautiful pudding I ever saw" - the sort of loving, thoughtful thing my own mother would say.

I always find Chene to be calming as well. And you've reminded me I've got to try that Yerbamate.
