Christina Aguilera by Christina Aguilera, E Coudray Esperys ~ new fragrances

Christina Aguilera perfumeAs previously reported, Christina Aguilera’s first scent will debut this October. The fragrance is a “playful & sexy” oriental floral; the tag line is “Sometimes, its all you need to wear”.

The notes for Christina Aguilera include mandarin, blackcurrant, peony, stephanotis, jasmine, ripe plums, amber, vanilla and musk. According to Aguilera, the jasmine was included to evoke movie-star glamour; the blackcurrant was inspired by her honeymoon on Bali.

Christina Aguilera will be available in 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. (via cosmoty.de)

Well, I'm not a huge Christina Aguilera fan, and the last thing we need is another celebrity fragrance. But this one does sound as if it has the potential to be more palatable than most, and from what I can see in the photo, the bottle looks absolutely beautiful. Speaking of celebrity frags, though we're all sick of them and you'd think they would have had their day by now, they just keep on coming, don't they? Do you think there's an end in sight, or are celeb fragrances just here to stay? Is it past the point where it's a trend and has now become a staple? I keep thinking that the public will tire of them at some point, and we'll start to see fewer releases, but sometimes I'm not so sure.

I think the celebrity fragrance thing is here to stay. Some of the lines may die off, but new ones will take their places. It is just too tempting for the fragrance companies.

I am not loving that bottle or the description, but we'll see!

Celebrities have never been more popular, as long as most of the general public keeps buying the US mags and going to TMZ.com to find out who's wearing underwear and who's not these frags will keep coming and coming. It's hot right now to be even the slightest bit famous (famous for what… I usuallywonder) and before we're done I think everyone who can get a fragrance made for them, will. The possibilities are endless as far as composition and notes, unfortunately I think we've got a long road ahead of this crap. I'm just sayin' that if I like this Aguilera stuff, I might buy it but I will never tell anyone what it is!

One way to look at it is that the celebrity market may just increase general interest in fragrances across the board, and that most of the target audience will outgrow the “fruit salad” phase and move on to more serious perfumery. In the end, maybe everyone wins and the world will have more scent-savvy people? Just trying to be optimistic.

One question: how the hell does black currant evoke Bali?? Just be thankful there's no lychee or kiwi….

Now I'll have to check out tmz.com, never heard of it! I wanna know who's wearing underwear…

The original source is in German, but I think it is from some drink she had on her honeymoon?

Amber, plums & blackcurrent – Itsounded good. But then I read JASMINE. Urgh, too strong for me.

even though i probably won't buy the christina aguilera, i *do* like how it's available in 15 and 30 mL! i wish more perfume houses offered smaller sizes of their goods…

Christina has cleaned up since getting married and she has that retro glamour look. So this will probably sell well, and smell good.

The bottle and ad doesn't seem so cheap. Of course it probably won't be a perfume like art but it's probably wearable for everyday to make it more appealing.

Might still be worth smelling — many of the celeb fragrances are VERY light on the floral notes.

I like that too! I think that is Sephora's influence — how to sell to young people.

Was she not so cleaned up before? Don't know anything about her, will have to investigate…

Okay, I love Christina. Loved her in her teenypopper and skanked-out-ho phases, but especially love the style and confidence she carries now. So, I was hoping for something less blatantly commercialized than this, but I feel like I've read this list of notes so many times before.

The problem is, I guess, that there isn't much point in doing a celeb scent that isn't blatantly commercial, unless you're like Cumming & just enjoy a good joke, right?

Tested C.A. on my wrist this morning & I don't like it.

I had the same problem as I did with Shilpa Shetty's & Kate Moss's – the scent doesn't last on me. It must be my body chemistry.

I got a short, sharp, tart fruity blast when first applied & 1 hour later there's just a faint impression of woody amber left, that just reminds me of my brother's favourite aftershave.

The bottle looked nice on the above picture, but in reality it's nasty & cheap. Clear glass with a black lace pattern printed onto it.

It sounds really nice to me. And I am not only saying that because I am a huge Christina Fan. Trust me, it will be great!

So far, the few reports I've seen have been less than thrilling, but we'll see! Haven't seen a tester of it yet.

I sent out for a free sample (www.christina-aguilera-perfume.com) and I absolutely love the perfume! My body chemistry tends to turn scent sour, but this came out beautiful, soft, and subtly sexy! I received my sample today and my boyfriend told me to go out and buy it! Which I did! My favorite perfume I've had so far!

I am not even sure if it has launched in the US yet. It is available in the UK though.

Intriguing, provocative scent ! It is woody, but has high notes muted by tonka bean. I LOVE IT ! It is unusual and has attitude. For very sophisticated women who walk fast and are not afraid to stand out. SOO provocative !
When I wore it inside the parfumerie, other women loved it on me, they decided to buy it themselves. One word- SEX.
