What a stylish film that was. Dark sunglasses, raven tresses, lovely jawlines, mod scarves. . .Interesting how many scents are named after Italian hot spots. Let's see -- Capri twice, Venezia, Tuscany, Sicily, Roma. . .Funny that the French don't seem to look farther than Paris for inspiration. Or am I overlooking something obvious?

I love your idea for "Rome". I watched La Dolce Vita last night, speaking of Rome. And I am definitely going to buy both of those AV's, not to worry. My resistance has already been broken. :)

Oh, I like the sounds of that! And Rome -- some motorscooter exhaust and lots of garlic??? Maybe not, either. Glad I was able to pique your interest -- really, they're GIVING them away out in cyberworld, and theyr'e lovely. . .

I'm intrigued by the idea of AV Sienna etc, etc. I'm envisioning "Firenze" as incorporating the smell of oils and marble dust... maybe not. Regardless, thanks for the info - I'll definitely add these to the wish list.

My pleasure. For anyone interested, Vittadini's Capri -- discontinued now, I believe, but still around -- has limoncello, island tree moss, black currant buds, jasmine, muguet, water lily, white osmanthus, rosewould and musk, so it's lighter and fresher than a tropical "island" scent. It's featherlight but the staying power is comparatively impressive. Venezia is the second in what I believe was to be a whole series of Italian place-name scents from AV, but nothing happened past these two, as far as I know. Venezia is lovely, too, in the same ethereal way as Capri, and smells more northern, as you'd expect, with bergamot, violet leaves, red currant, plum, red rose, jasmine, wisteria and sandalwood. It's a pretty pair -- I often wear one on each wrist! A shame the scents didn't launch the intended series; I would have loved to have sniffed Sienna, et al.

I know that of the three, Hawaii stood out for me as being a little more interesting, memorable, a little less generically tropical. All of them are VERY expensive here in Canada. The component line-up of Capri's sounds intriguing -- the most unusual of all -- so I know I'll be looking for it waaay off in November. In the meantime, if anyone's dying for a new Itallian-islandi-inspired frag and sees Adrienne Vittadini's Capri -- they're practically giving it away online -- it's very sheer and pretty, with a crisp limoncello top note, and it'll see you through September and October.
