Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme, Miss Sixty Flower Power ~ new fragrances

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme fragrance for menDolce & Gabbana will launch Light Blue Pour Homme next month. The spicy-woody fragrance is a follow-up to their best-selling Light Blue Pour Femme, which was released in 2001.

“What we tried to do since the inspiration is Mediterranean sensuality, we have a lot of great ingredients like Sicilian mandarin which gives a sparkling fresh top note,” said [Markus] Strobel. The Sicilian mandarin is combined with frozen grapefruit peel, bergamot and juniper. Heart notes for the fragrance consist of rosemary, Szechuan pepper and rosewood, and the mix is rounded out with base notes of musk wood, incense and oak moss.

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme is an Eau de Toilette and will be available in 75 and 125 ml, and in matching grooming products. (via Women's Wear Daily ) Update: see a review of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme.

    lol @ the crotch shot

These male fragrance ads are hilarious! On the same page scroll down to see the Fleurs De Male and Le Male ads for more laughs! :D

HA — you are right, although the 2 JPG shots strike me as purposefully ironic, this one I think is meant as quite serious.

what if I told you the shorts are airbrushed (photo retouched) on for American publication.

not that I know this but could you see him without shorts advertising this stuff?

Nudity would seem like a very odd fit for a D&G Light Blue scent, but who knows?

I think D&G are a little oversexed, but not that much…I still remember a Gucci ad (not fragrance) showing a woman crawling on the floor and a guy wearing pants but no undies, as the head of his penis was quite visible (Yes I DO look hehehe, but trust me EVERYONE noticed, g or str8) It was not tastefull at all ,nor did I find it sexy.

I´m lookin forward to this fragrance though, beside the original d&g male and female scents I have found later releases uninspired (”by” smelt to me like OOOOLD colognes) and the light blue for woman was i think a step on a more likable direction.

p.s.: Regarding all this controversy, and if we find the ads amusing or sexy… the clever words of a fellow english-class alumni come to mind “It depends on the person”. wise words indeed, trouble is the guy answered EVERYTHING with that phrase, as he didnt spoke much englis!!! :)

LOL — well, my first (very American and practical!) thought was — what is he doing out there on a boat in his underwear? But honestly, fragrance advertising doesn't do much for me either way unless it is funny. I love the JPG ads, almost all of them, this one is mostly just dull and unimaginative.

Hubba-hubba! I like the new ads some of these fragrance houses are coming out with now. It's about time we get a chance to see half naked if not completely naked men in ads!
” Heaven, I'm in Heaven, and my heart beats hard that I can hardly speak!” LOL!!!!!

Now, is this more hubba-hubba than the guy in the milk bath for Fleurs du Male? Because I like him much better :-)

I have no big expectations either way — there really aren't any D&G scents that I love.

Even if I'm from Europe, and shouldn't be shoked by this advert… I am… first thing I see… is its “kangourou slip”… well, I guess.. it is very Dolce&Gabbana… we know the way they are ;o). On a scent point of view, I love it, it is very fresh and masculine in the same time, I'm looking forward to smell it around by men on the beach ;o))

i've heard so many comments on d & g light blue pour homme. and every last one of them said mediocre at its best. i'm sooo disappointed. i built up an expectation so high that i've purchased it blindly off e-bay, i won the auction but i'm thinking about not getting. but oh well, i am a business man so i'll still get it. might let my little brother wear it since he just wears cologne for the sake of it!!!

I have given it only a terribly brief try on paper, not even enough to make much of an impression. It certainly didn't strike me as wildly original, but then, neither is Light Blue for women so I didn't expect that. Hope it will turn out better than you're expecting!
