In “IFRA Promotes Synthetic Ingredients in Fragrance“, an article which first appeared on 3/2 in Cosmetics Design-Europe:
IFRA has suggested that the many benefits of using synthetic ingredients within fragrance production outweighs the use of natural ingredients – coinciding with the controversial revision of its code of practice last year.
But if you want to see that quote on the Cosmetics Design site, you'll have to search Google's cache before it disappears; it has now been reworded to say:
The IFRA has suggested that the many benefits of using synthetic ingredients within fragrance production are equally as important as that of natural ingredients – coinciding with the controversial revision of its code of practice last year.
There, that sounds more reasonable, doesn't it? And on Basenotes, a reply to Cropwatch from IFRA's Director General, Jean-Pierre Houri.

Thanks for this exposè, R. I have the original webpage on file and the second paragraph was also changed to make them seem natural-friendly after the big admission on Friday. Twirley jounalism, don't cha love it – now you see it, now you don't (see the same.) LOL. I blogged about it today, and boy, oh boy, I had fun with the illustration for the article.
