I finally smelled Midnight Fantasy. I didn't think it was too bad at all. It didn't smell as samey or generic, or what have you, as I thought it would. It also didn't smell as midnighty as I thought it would… but it's still a nice night-time component to the original.

Most likely worth buying a smoll bottle, to wear at night after the original Fantasy has faded off.

Smelled MF tonight at Dillards. It smelled nice on paper, but since I had a little more shopping to do, I decided to test it on my wrist. Later, as I was shopping, I kept noticing this almost cloying scent. I assumed it was the Ralph Rocks that I had obligingly spritzed on the other wrist at the SA's urging. (To my surprise, RR was actually quite bearable, although I won't be purchasing it.) It was the MF that was suffocating me. The sickly sweet aroma was vaguely reminiscent of something I'd worn before, and this irked me. I kept sniffing and trying to place it. Then it dawned on me . . . MF smells like a cheapened, perverted version of one of my favorite scents, Cartier Delices!! The cherry note is the killer. It smells more like the fermented juice in an old jar of maraschinos (spelling?) or one of those tree-shaped air fresheners that you get a truckstop, rather than fresh black cherries just picked off the tree. Yuck. Needless to say, I won't be purchasing this one.

Have to agree, there hasn't been a dark oriental fragrance from a celebrity for some time now.

I don't want to be dismissive of this scent, but I honestly thought that's how they'd interpret a “dark fragrance”; with an amalgam of dark fruit. Pleasant enough for those who love fruity scents, however!

Fruity sounds different from what I expected, but not bad. In fact, completely different from the other Britney fragrances. I honestly expected a darker, deeper kind of fragrance (a la Obsession Night, or Drakkar Noir or something). But considering I loved the other three, most likely I will buy this one, even if unsniffed. And if Sephora gets it in on their website before I complete my order, I'll buy it there for free shipping .
