It is intensely 'perfumey' (obviously the aldehydes) and might I imagine appeal to someone who likes things like 24 Faubourg and indeed Chanel #5. the jasmine amber and vanilla seem quite noticable to me - the violets barely so. Baghari is true couture elegance. It's aldehydic but the warm vanilla and amber notes dominate. No idea what the original smelled like, but this version is very, very good IMHO.
