Derek Jeter and Avon. It is not the world it once was, my friends.

Is it just me, or does there seem something a little illogical in Halloween Tropical? How tropical is it in most places at the end of October?

They must have Hallowe'en in at least one tropical country, surely–or is it a holiday celebrated mostly/only in English-speaking nations?

Whatever. Love that bird-cage bottle. I bet Lolita Lempicka is sick with envy.

I love it, too. It's too bad it doesn't look like I'm going to like the fragrance. I'm wondering, though, how they're going to pull the bottle off: is the bird just going to be on the label or a piece of plastic, in which case the whole thing will look cheap or will it be enamelled on the side or made out of some more chi-chi and nonreactive material inside, in which case it will be very very expensive to produce?

Very true! I associate Halloween with ghoulies and ghosties and bonfires – it's hard to imagine Trick or Treates wearing swimear and sunbock! But I suppose it must happen.

It certainly ups the ante for “what next”, if you know what I mean.

Have to admit I have never smelled Halloween, but for that matter, the notes don't sound very cold weather, do they?

Halloween is an odd one isn't it?

I read somewhere that Oct 31 was simply the date J. del Pozo created the formula for this scent, so he named it Halloween. Apparently it wasn't meant to evoke feelings of autumn or the trick or treat season at all.

I so wanted to love this one based on the notes, but there is too much melon in the original. This ltd. edition sounds very nice. The bottles with the mauve coloured juice are gorgeous.

Ah, that is interesting. I wondered what inspired an LE for Halloween. The bottles that I have seen have all been nice, but haven't smelled the juice.
