My best friend loved pure poison and recommended it to me. I ended up buying it at a perfume shop in my neighborhood and instantly fell in love it was a deep slightly old-fashioned fragrant floral the enveloped all my senses. A few days after that we wandered into a local sephora and the tester smelled completely different it smelled fresh more fruity and gave me a headache. I came to a conclusion that maybe i bought an old bottle. Does anyone know if it may have been reformulated since it's debut??

If she is a die hard Pure Poison fan, I wouldn't give her anything else. How about the body lotion, or the Pure Poison Elixir? This also looks nice:

Robin, do you know of anything that would make a die hard Pure Poison fan happy? I mean my aunt hasn't worn anything else but Pure since it was released and I want to get her something right up the same alley. I stink at the moment and can't think of anything. Her bday is Sunday so I have to think of something quick. Thanks so much for any help! : )

There's nothing at all wrong with liking fruity florals, although for some time the industry has just been producing more of them than I think the world needs...but PP is not a fruity floral, not that that matters either. Glad you love it in any case!

if toilet freshener smelt like this i would buy it by the crate load .This is my favourite fragrance, whats wrong with liking fruity florals anyway? not that this is exactly. It smells exactly like my childhood christmasses, fir trees and candles and orange zest with a hint or christmas pudding. The bottle is great too, pearly. Best fragrance i've ever come across, but i'm heavily biased against honking musky sandalwood fragrances that assault your nasal passages like a punch.

If all fragrances were masterpieces there would be no need for a blog. It is fun to poke at the ridiculous, which I admit there are and I have. Some comments make me lol plenty. And who doesn't need humor?

I bought some cheap Brittany Spears Curious the other day and mixed it with a drop of Youth Dew, and I actually liked it. Weird and Funny gets you by.

Thanks : D

Becca, so many mainstream fragrances seem uninspired & derivative -- it's hard not to put them down sometimes. I'm guilty of that too. But seriously, I don't think it matters if you love something. Everything doesn't have to be a masterpiece. Kai is no masterpiece, and I wear it, and I always bring up Body Time's Egyptian Musk, which I love, and really there are probably too many for me to mention here. It's impossible to blog about fragrance and never offend anybody, I think.

Thank you! I feel so much better. What a truly well written and great no nonsense article. It should be a prerequisite to posting on this blog.

In all honesty, it wasn't you I was ticked by, nor was it just Pure Poison. So many bloggers put down so many mainstream fragrances, that my little tirade had been building up. You'll describe a fragrance and I'll think of how pretty it sounds, and then along with the curious, the vultures will descend. I think a few people won't post for the same reason you wrote about-fear of feeling so green or having, GASP, horrible taste. I admire the people who comment anyway.

By the way, just to make me feel extra better, what is one of your favorite so not snobby pleasures? I almost said "guilty" but that would ruin the whole point wouldn't it?

All smiles, :-)))))
