Smiley & i Profumi di Firenze Fiori del Cielo ~ new fragrances

Smiley perfumeSmiley, a new perfume from the Arthes label, will launch its first perfume at Colette in April:

The unisex fragrance will be marketed as a ‘happy-therapy’ creation based on olfactory molecules theobromine and phenylethylamine that are known to trigger happiness. Developed by Firmenich, the scent itself is a fruity, spicy accord with bergamot and orange at the opening, and cocoa, praline and curaçao at the heart of the fragrance. The dry-down features patchouli, myrrh and musk (via cosmeticnews)

Smiley perfume was developed by perfumer Jean Pierre Bethouart; the packaging was designed by Ora Ito. It is available in Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Parfum (extrait), and in an “Emergency Kit” that includes Eau de Parfum, Body Gel and Therapeutic Bath. Other products include Tanning Stimulator, Body Deodorant Treatment and All-In-One Washing Solution. Smiley is available in the US at Henri Bendel's in New York. (additional information via osmoz & happytherapy)

The next fragrance release from i Profumi di Firenze will be Fiori del Cielo, “inspired by the natural beauty of Florence”, with notes of purple iris, white & yellow narcissus, purple anemone and pink cyclamen. Fiori del Cielo will be exclusive to Barneys and will debut on April 7. (via press release from Isabella Imports)

Well, the 'happy therapy' idea does appeal to me, although I'm not sure that presenting the juice like a prescription drug is going to work.

The new IPdiF sounds wonderful! Have you tried it yet?

    Hugs!

I have tried the new IPdiF, courtesy of the lovely parislondres! It is indeed wonderful, I highly recommend it. She gifted me with a 15ml extrait de parfum bottle of it. I'm sure the edt will be nice as well.

I can't decide if it is appealing or worrisome (?) Not sure I want mood-altering chemicals in my perfume.

Oooh yes, I second that request: please describe it if you have a moment! :)

Hmm, I am not good at this sort of thing – I could definitely smell the iris and the narcissus. I would describe it as a lightly sweet floral, perfect for spring. It reminds me a bit in “feel” (not scent) of EL Pleasures or Fresh Index Pink Jasmine. Does that help?

Happiness molecules…sounds like it should be illegal or controlled.

It is great marketing. Everyone will want to try it (including me) just to see if it will produce the promised response.

But there are already happy molecule fragrances IMO. I think of La Chasse (diet as you would say) and Dzing as happy, and I'm sure there are many more I will come to think of this way.

But I know I will want to smell this thing that looks like a bottle of nasal saline spray anyway.

Hello R! I loved the newish IPdF Fiori de Cielo (a pretty iris).

Their latest (as of Dec) is Incanto and it sells very well – so well that they had run out. I always love to visit their charming shop in Florence and they are so adorable there.

    Have a super day!

Tara, exactly the kind of description I like – what's it smell of and what's it a bit like – perfect!

Nasal spray….I knew it reminded me of something specific, and that's it!

I am curious about Smiley, but the notes don't appeal to me at all. Perhaps given the other chemicals, I would wear it happily anyway, LOL…

I sure wish there was some place in Rome that I could get these! BF is there right now and I would love for him to get Incanto for me. How far a drive is it to Florence??

I bought some Smiley eau de parfum today, i have to

tell you i didnt believe it at first, but i had a spray while walking through Selfridges in Trafford Centre in

Manchester, and i was hooked after 2-3 mins, i felt like the black cloud had been lifted, i have alot of worries going on at the moment, and this perfume, wow i can tell you, i have felt so happy all day, i can also tell you, not once have i fancied chocolate or wanted to eat anything sweet. So with some luck it wwill help me lose weight too, i have to say, it really does make a person feel like they are in love, you know when you first meet someone, you have that honeymoon period where you are totally in love, well that is how this perfume makes you feel. I can happily say, i have not stopped smiling all day, i will be soooo sad if this comes off the market,.

This perfume is lovely, and the bottle is very trendy, it comes in a bright white and yellow box, with a smiley face on it, i recommend this very much.

I am all for something that makes me happy, life

    is not for sadness!!!
