Happy St. Patrick's day, R! Would you consider Lancome Climat and Hermes Vetiver Tonka green? If so, I am adding them to the list :-)

R, Eau de Lude, Eau de Lude… Cannot recall what this one smells like.

My favourite greens are Chanel no. 19, Vent Vert and Ma Griffe. It is such an underrepresented genre (especially if you speak of something vivid and green, not merely pale green).

Happy St. Patrick's Day, R! Well, today I'm wearing Hermes Eau d'orange vert b/c it seems so appropriate – green and orange and b/c I absolutely adore the scent, I think it may be that one scent that I'd take to a deserted island. But other green fragrances which I just adore are Sisley Eau de Campagne and the new Marc Jacobs Grass Summer Edition.

    Have a great weekend.

What I find interesting about your list is there are some greens I just love (in terms of their green-ness) and some I loathe, I am scratching my head trying to Venn-diagram it mentally and see what the differences and similarities are. Hmmm….

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It may be obvious that green is my favorite when it comes to perfume. I just wore Eau de Lude yesterday, btw to Victoriaf, and it is a tangy jasmine with green notes. It's one I could bathe it though not at all as green as my dear Vent Vert. Today is Voleur de Roses and Creed's Fdtdrb (or whatever) which is the only green I have on. Whoops! Have a great weekend everyone.

Hope you enjoy a great weekend.

Happy St. Paddy's Day one and all!

Cristalle is a bit green, isn't it?

    Hugs!

Sous le Buis and Seve Exquise by Gobin Daudé are the most beautiful green scents. They 're natural, evocative, botanical, poetic and beautifully blend with the skin. Wearing Gobin Daudé 's scent doesn 't feel like wearing perfume, the scent becomes part of you.

Sous le Buis is fresh, uplifting, earthy – tamed nature, boxwood hedges freshly clipped, softness of barks, warm sun-baked stones…

    Family : Hesperidic, green.

Contains : galbanum, lavender, sage clary, orange flower…

Seve Exquise is sensual, mysterious, earthy – a fresh greedy sap, a young resinous bud, sweet leaves ready to spread, promise of spring…

    Family : Green, chypre.

Contains : orris, poplar bud, liatrix, vetiver…

Biche dans l 'Absinthe is also a beautiful green leather – A doe fuses in absinthe, princess of nature, quivering, wild and sensual, happily surrendered to the magic of foliage.

    Family : Leather, aromatic.

Contains : artemesia (absinthe), immortelle flower, green hay, tobacco leaf…

Philosykos is very, very green to me. Love that stuff. :)

Sure! If I had more time, I would have listed more vetiver scents…

Eau de Lude is galbanum, rose & mint, but it is one of the lighter PdNs and I didn't find it long lasting. Smells nicely like crushed leaves while it is still around…

Just smelled the Grass today, but couldn't get a sample. Does it last? It seemed very light. Eau de Campagne is a great scent :-)

They are two of my all time favorite greens, and I have reviewed both — but I didn't include them because I no longer know of a single place on earth where you can buy them :-)

Agree, it is very green. And I love it too!

I understand and I love your Gobin Daude 's review.

I heard there 's not a single place in Paris now where you can find them, I contacted Victoire Gobin Daude a while ago, I got an email, they 're trying to find a new distributor. She 's an independant perfumer and in world which the big corporate perfume industry is controlling everything it 's impossible to survive.

I bought 12 Gobin Daude bottles over the last past 4 months and just won one Seve Exquise on german ebay for $155.

Wow, 12 bottles — good for you! I have one of Seve Exquise & 1 of Sous Le Buis, and I'm trying to use them slowly. I do hope she manages to find a new distributor soon, there were rumors that she had 2 new scents finished & I'd love to smell them.

I spent a lot of money on these scents, I don 't care because I know I might never find them anymore. they 're so ME, I relate and connect so much with these scents… I know women who spend as much in hideous handbags and shoes that go out of fashion within a season! at least my Gobin Daudé collection will be with me for many years to come.

Oh, I do love the greens! Ma Griffe is an old favorite – I don't know if I ever smelled the original since I was not yet born, but I always liked it and I never did understand why it went “downmarket”.

Another good green one is Aliage by Estee Lauder – not sure if it's still around but it has virtually no sweetness to it, just fresh and green notes.

My all-time favorite green floral has to be Patou's Vacances – I fell in love at first sniff many years ago. Something about it is nostalgic and full of longing, yet fresh like a spring morning – a real masterpiece. It's like the smell of a lawn when the dew is still on it in the early morning, but the sun is just warming the earth, and the breath of the grass and flowers is floating on the air.

R – were you in Neiman Marcus today?? And if so, what time? I was there around 3.

It does actually last a few hours, probably 5-6, which is great considering the quantity and price.

They only have the tester of the grass, they're completely sold out of that and the rain.

I was in KoP from about 3:30 – 5:30, so we just missed each other! I saw the MJ Splash trio at Nordstrom & Bloomingdales as well. At Bloomies, they tried to tell me that the trio were room & linen sprays, not meant for the body. LOL!

No argument from me: I likewise spend all my purse & shoe money on fragrance.

What a wonderful description of Vacances…I need to try that one again. I'm not sure I've ever smelled Aliage!

They told me the same thing. It doesn't last on my pillows, I've tried it already, lol.

I didn't know that Bloomingdales or Nordstroms were carrying it, thats good to know. Were they nearly sold out as well? I don't hit those stores as often as I hit Neiman Marcus. I like that section of the mall, I can hit Hermes where they always are generous with samples, so much so that I no longer need to buy a full bottle of Sur le Nil or Eau des Merveilles. And I can hit Tiffany which gives out the largest samples I've ever seen – 4 mLs, and then I can hit Neiman Marcus and spend forever in there.

Were you pleased with the grass, or did you not sniff it? I love the smell of Grass, so much so that I don't mind mowing the lawn, so the spray was a must for me. I'd be curious to know what you thought…

Mark, I smelled them on cards…Grass was certainly my favorite but I'd have a more distinct opinion if I'd managed to get samples. Will have to try again :-)

Green florals are always a challenge for me to wear. But my favourites are definitley Private Collection, l'Ombre Dans l'Eau and Ivoire. I also like Eau de Camille and Verte Violette and Ormonde – which are softer greens, without the high pitched sharpness… In the less strictly green section – namely green chypre (I have not a problem wearing these, which is quite puzzling) I love Miss Dior and Chamade. I also like how the green is used in Yohji and Yerbamate. But the only green I can wear deliberately without worries is Philosykos – the perfect green fig.

A, Philosykos is perfect in every way, and love several of the others you mentioned. Need to get my hands on some Yohji one of these days…

I love Vicky Tiel's Ethere – it is the creative interpretation of the smell of a spring morning, just after a night rain. So purty.

K, One of these days, I promise I will get my hands on the Vicky Tiels! I can always count on you to list the underdogs :-)

Thanks, I had thought they were all gone.

That Vicky Tiels sounds indeed “purdy.”

I'm (finally!) getting around to my mini bottle of Eau Parfumee de The' Vert this afternoon. I actually started the day badly by SPILLING most of my precious 1 ml sample of Osmanthe Yunnan, although I had managed to put some on to test. Really lovely, but so light, and every wearing would cost $$$$$, so it is off my list.

Ah well, at least the carpet will smell nice for a few days. And it is the first time I've spilled a sample vial, although I'll bet the ranch it won't be the last time.

I love Chanel No. 19, but the reason I love her is for her lovely leather shoes, not for her green hat. Surprising, because I'm not generally a leather fan.

You can't leave out Arcana Soap's Molly Malone perfume oil.

It's cheap, but earthy, not too sweet, and fabulous (plus, the name is quite fitting for the day!).
