Agent Provocateur Menage a Trois & more perfume news

Agent Provocateur will release Menage a Trois in January. I thought this would be a new fragrance, but it turns out to be a trio of travel sized Eau de Parfum bottles of their signature perfume. Lovely packaging though!

The New York Times has an article about perfumer Lyn Harris of Miller Harris. She loves fragrance, and she loves her Swiffer mop.

The next big sale at Floris starts Monday, January 3.

The next addition to the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line will be Fico di Amalfi, a fragrance with “tangerine, bergamot, lemon, grapefruit and cedar; a heart of fig nectar, pink pepper and jasmine petals, and a drydown of fig wood, musk and cedar wood.” (via Women's Wear Daily)

The Smell Culture Reader is due to be published in May 2006, and includes articles by Mandy Aftel, Oliver Sacks, Luca Turin, John Steele and Alan Hirsch. Thanks to Anya for the link!

C, Glad there is someone looking for something to read about perfume on a Saturday!

The Fico di Amalfi does sound good — but I have so many great fig fragrances that it will have to be outstanding in order to compete. Can't decide about the Songes…don't always like powdery fragrances. We shall see!

Floris has summer limes on sale for $25 unboxed. I'm buying that. I often had it in my hand to buy but then for some reaosn or another I put it down. $70 made me put it down. $25 I can do.

That is a good deal, and Limes is probably my favorite Floris.

Yeah, it's nice. My mother wears Seringa which is nice for what it is. I'm glad someone else likes a good lime fragrance, I find it to be the most fickle of the citruses…what do you think? I guess it's the one that can most often go in the direction of a household cleanser…even before lemon.

The household cleaner association is strong, but my bigger complaint with lime is its tendency to smell flat after 15 minutes. The Floris does a good a job as any at keeping citrus-y…but my favorite citrus is still Carthusia Mediterraneo :-)

I find the lasting power excellent for a citrus, but like any citrus, it doesn't go all day. There is an Eau de Parfum version but I haven't tried it.

Great, let me know if it is worth purchasing!
