Guerlain Grosellina & Tutti Kiwi, and a few more new perfumes for 2006

More on next year's Aqua Allegoria releases from Guerlain:

Grosellina is a fresh and fruity fragrance and it is housed in a white carton that provides a striking contrast with the decorative red currants on the outer. Its other notes include white tea, raspberry and sweet acacia flower. Meanwhile Tutti Kiwi has lemon, mandarin, vanilla and wood notes and the carton brandishes a picture of the kiwi fruit from which it was inspired. (via cosmeticsinternational)

In April, look for a new Shalimar Light, and as previously reported, other future releases from Guerlain include Colors of Love, Lovely Cherry Blossom Gold Sparkles, and summer versions of L'Instant. Update: see a review of Guerlain Tutti Kiwi.

The Different Company will debut a new fragrance by perfumer Celine Ellena in May. (via Women's World Daily) Update: see a review of The Different Company Sel de Vetiver.

What is it with Guerlain? On the one hand they are still able to come up with wonderful things like Attrape-Coeur. On the other hand they release “pink” fruity things and release lots of them. It's like Guerlain is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde these days LOL

M, I guess that like everyone else, they're trying to appeal to both ends of the age spectrum here. Last year's AAs sounded much more appealing than these — these sound like they're verging on Escada LEs — but we'll see.

Grosellina? What kind of name is that? Presumably it means something cute in French…

The new TDC sounds exciting. I really like Celine Ellena's Jasmine de Nuit – I'm glad it's her who's doing the next one.

Groselle is red currant — mind you I know that only because someone said so in the comments when this fragrance was first announced :-)

I'm looking forward to the next TDC too. So far, 2006 is looking like it will be a good year for perfume.

Well, I always look forward to the new Guerlains, whether I end up liking the actual scents or not. I like most of the AAs–they appeal to my light and airy side. Then there's my dark side, but we won't pursue that topic.

R, Sounds like good news, I´m especially interested in the new TDC scent, though I don´t like the others very much (Rose Poivre is the only one I ever cared for, but not so much that I purchased it). But you never know, perhaps the new creation will be right up my alley ;)

I wish you a merry christmas & hope that you´ll have a wonderful time!

They're changing Diet Shalimar again? Does this mean I have to buy up all the old stuff?

Ugh…Guerlain. They make me sick! Instead of releasing another AA, why not send some of those iconic fragrances like Attrape Coeur and Metalys over here to the states?

I say, “Humbug!” I love Guerlain, but they make me so frustrated sometimes.

Anyway, R, you are an amazing woman. Thank you for providing us with such great perfume news and insights in a safe and honest forum.

I will be back and forth, in and out, over the next week. So, I may or may not “see” you on a regular basis until the third.

Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family, my friend!

    Sending you big hugs!

LOL — no, not today L. I like many of the AAs too, but these sound like they might be sweeter than usual.

C, Anything new from TDC is of course worth trying, although I didn't love the Jasmin.

You have a wonderful holiday too!

I have seen this mentioned twice now in the press, but unfortunately neither article mentioned how it would be changed, or how much. Argh. Might be worth starting to hoard, but I don't know.

R, I do think we will get some of the good stuff at Bergdorfs, but not all of it, so joining in your frustration. I still find it very odd that Guerlain does not have a flagship boutique in New York.

R, sincere thanks for the very nice compliment. Wishing you the very best of everything, and sending you big hugs too!
