Perfumed packaging & a few new fragrances

The Eastman Chemical Company has developed a new way to add fragrance to product packaging:

In the Chocolatine prototype the cream is scented with chocolate, vanilla and orange and the jar’s lid disperses a fragrance identical to that of the cream. Although Chocolatine is a fully realised product, it will not be marketed directly. (via cosmeticsinternational)

Upcoming fragrance news from Jan Moran’s Fabulous Fragrances newsletter:

…Aquolina’s Chocolovers, a chocoholic fantasy planned for a Valentine’s Day debut. Scherrer puts a modern spin on seduction with S, a sizzling sleek duo for women and men. Guerlain’s romantic Colours of Love bows in January, while the company’s Aqua Allegoria line welcomes Tutti Kiwi and Grosellina. Christian Breton debuts Ismene, an ethereal glittery pink confection.

For those of you interested in purchasing Michael Edwards’ Fragrances of the World 2006, Jan Moran is offering a 10% pre-publication discount through the end of this year. Call (800) 310-6010 to order.

Grosellina sounds interesting, if it shall be a red currant as I would assume from the name (groselle means red currant). However, curious to see Guerlain stepping in the fruity direction as well.

V, Going by the names alone, none of the three sound very enticing. Tutti Kiwi in particular sounds like an Escada summer limited edition.

    Hello Robin:

Thanks for passing along an excerpt from our Fabulous Fragrances News on the exciting new fragrances I discovered at the TFWA in Cannes a couple of weeks ago. Our monthly Fabulous Fragrances News newsletter is free to your readers; people can sign up on our site via your link above.

In fact, I just received a call from one your lovely readers to reserve a copy of Michael's new book, Fragrances of the World 2006 (discounted to $117 from $130 through end of 2005). Though I'm busy writing and working on another new program, I had a moment for a very nice chat with her. The new book ships in late December/early January once the books clear U.S. customs.

    Fabulous Wishes,

    Jan Moran
