Interested in Melodrama b/c of Sheldrake. Think it'll be an update of an old-fashioned floral chypre? Would love to know.

I was totally uninterested in Ferre until I saw the words “basmati rice.” I think you know how I feel about the smell of rice. :)

    Thanks for the news!

Same, T, and he also did 2 others for them: Space NK Man, and Space NK Blue. Have never smelled a one!

As to the rice, yes, my ears perked up too, but the pineapple & melon worry me ;-)

Wow, I was just becoming concerned that no new fragrances would come out that I was at all interested in! Thanks so much for letting me know about these new, as yet unattainable frags for me to dream of, and perk me up in the future! Can't wait to try the Sheldrake's and Parfum D'Empire, is this a new line?

Raging lemming attack! 5 new scents I'm suddenly obsessing over! *Must* try the new one from Sheldrake and am praying the Ferre scent works on me better than Champaca. The Colette and Parfum D'Empire scents sound amazing as well.

Parfum d'Empire is relatively new, but they do have one prior fragrance. Unfortunately, I don't think they are in the US at all. First-in-fragrance.com does have their first scent, Eau de Gloire, and hoping they will get these 2 new ones soon.

I want to try Melodrama too. Have to find out if Space NK ships to the US, and if they do samples :-)

I was thinking about what happened to Space NK the other week. They made a splash several years ago and the products were sold a NM for a time. Then we sort of heard nothing.

These fragrances sound very intriguing indeed, especially Melodrama and Expression (vetyver, R!!). Let me know if you get to try them.

    Hugs!

R, I didn't know they were ever in the US…will have to send them an email to see if they are in some store I don't know about!

Hopefully I will be getting a sample of Melodrama in the post today, if not it will be tomorrow. I will be sure to post my thoughts on it.

As for Parfum d'Empire, Les Senteurs in the UK stocks their Eau de Gloire, in fact it was on my reccommendation that they stocked it. I have received their new catalogue but there is no mention of the 2 new ones in it.

Wonderful, do come back and post! I am very curious about this one.

Wow, to my nose, this scent isn't an update of a 1930's floral chypre. This IS a 1930's floral chypre.

It starts with a blast of aldehydes, quite soapy. Once the top has faded it settles into a classic chypre base.

Imagine sitting in the cocktail bar of the Ritz. Sipping gin and tonics with Noel Coward singing at the piano.

    Beautiful!

Thanks so much Prince Barry, sounds like I need to try this one!

I also have a sample of Melodrama. The 20 something sa said she hated it!!!

But then it is nothing like the modern releases of the last ten years. As Prince Barry says big blast of aldehydes which takes a little while to settle. Then you get the bergamot coming through a zingy feel. And at last comes the florals,a little sweet but elegant antd feminine

    SpaceNK do ship worldwide.

    Check their site http://www.spacenk.com.

I am not sure how this actually works?

But if you are able to contact me I have two spare samples of Melodrama for those who would like them.

Donna, that is so kind of you! Unfortunately you would have to either post your email address or make it visible in your profile. Happily a friend is sending me a sample and I look forward to trying this one, it sounds like most people are loving it.
