Hi, K! I seem to recall Remy quoting a figure somewhere around $250 for the LE orange blossom scent — and pretty much saying that this would barely cover the cost of producing it. It really was lovely.

J, that went right over my head, LOL! But I think the point of this new line is to take a whole harvest, like a wine vintage, or so I've read, and to do another harvest the next year from some place else. I had heard they were going to do jasmine, and perhaps that was wrong or perhaps that is coming next. Whatever, as they say

For all I know NF is famous here too. It is quite easy to be famous and escape my notice entirely until you issue your own perfume.

R, my post was a little bit tongue in cheek. There's no way one could tell the difference between the two, but the fragrances should be like chalk and cheese.

Nicole Farhi is *very* famous here. She is married to the playwright David Hare and they can be seen at all the premieres. They are what we call “Champagne Socialists”. And they both get on my nerves.

I quite like Maria Sharpova, but I sincerely wish the words “fresh and floral” did not start her perfume description.

On the other hand, weirdly enough the Hummer fragrance sounds fabulous, and dear god, I'm going to have to hide all my CC's when the L'Artisan is released.

J, Sadly, I had no idea who Nicole Farhi is, although now I've checked out her website.

Really, really doubt I will be able to tell the difference between Moroccan & Tunisian orange blossom! And given that they are so close to each other geographically, wondering how different they would be anyway (I mean the actual absolute, not the finished fragrance).

The Q about the L'artisan, for me at least, is just how spendy it will be!

So Serge Lutens has a Moroccan orange blossom and L'Artisan will have a Tunisian one. The comparison should be interesting.

Nicole Farhi is jumping on the perfume bandwagon: she has good taste (she's French, LOL!). Should be interesting too.

Poor Maria Sharpova. I can't for the life of me remember who she is, and it doesn't sound like her perfume will be any more memorable.

This L'Artisan thing sounds fascinating (and spendy.) I wonder how big the batches or runs for each individual crops' frag will be, given the fact that they can only get so much out of each crop.
