(I, too, emailed the boutique over a month ago and got NO reply. Customer service, anyone? Or just plain old politeness?) Anyway, the scent is very, very nice, though sometimes it is the well-balanced, soft and pretty fragrance I thought it was at first and sometimes the jasmine is too strong and it becomes just another jasmine perfume to me. Still, all things considered, Jasmin Vert gets a yes vote from notoriously grumpy, nitpicky and often hornery Gert. Thanks to a very generous pal, I have a deliciously large decant of Jasmin Vert. Indoles are compounds that are naturally present in some florals, such as jasmine. I have seen the smell described variously as fecal (indoles are also in feces), animalic, musty, skunky. Some people find jasmine hard to take for that reason, or prefer a "clean" jasmine that doesn't have that animalic smell. I will try to find a clear definition and add it to the glossary this weekend. I am so sorry, I thought that term was in the glossary but it isn't!
