K, I didn't think so at all!

"Original" implies to me an older formula too, to distinguish from something new. I think it is a strange marketing tactic, and liable to confuse consumers looking to repurchase a scent they have been wearing for years.

I just reread my post and realized how vastly lacking in English language skills it makes me sound. I see what they are doing now. By "original", they are implying that this fragrance is an unusual new approach to sandalwood. I jumped to the conclusion that they were rereleasing their very first sandalwood fragrance from however many centuries ago created for whatever famous person. I'm totally over Creed.

K, I have no earthly idea. Their new Vetiver scent was also called "Original", even though they have an older Vetiver fragrance.

I'm a little confused as to why a "totally new take" has been entitled "Original", but curious as to how this will compare to their current lackluster sandalwood offering, Santal Imperial.

K, I have noticed at several MAC counters that they keep the fragrances behind the counter, so it is worth asking. I think they just don't have room with all that eyeshadow :-)

Took Saturday's post down because after reading the TOS more carefully, it occurred to me that I might be construed as "calling attention to the ads", which you are not allowed to do. Don't want to get kicked out before I get started!

Thanks for this info. I've been curious about the MAC scents, but was never able to find them. I wonder if these scents be available at their dept store counters, or just at the free-standing MAC stores.

I didn't get a chance to comment on the ads, and I see you took that thread off the blog, but they are just fine with me. They're unobtrusive and keep with the informational tone of your writing. I know how much time I spend composing a 3 paragraph email to friends - sometimes upwards of 1/2 hour - and they're just about nonsense! I can only imagine how much time and effort you pour into NST. You deserve to be compensated for this wonderful blog!
