I love the idea of Mandy Aftel, but I wasn't wild about the scents of hers that I tried: Cacao, obviously, but then her solid jasmine was a bit of a bore. She's obviously passionate about her craft, though. Totally odd detail that she's pals with William T. Vollmann, one of our weirder literary lights. I did love the sound of his fragrance, though.
T, I don't think I have tried any of her scents. I keep meaning to look for her cookbook, even though I don't cook.
I was surprised by the Vollman connection too.
You haven't tried Cacao? I thought that was a traditional MUA rite of passage! If I had some, I would send it your way, but I think I threw it at great velocity deep into the darkness of the kitchen trash.
Its true — its like I haven't yet learned the sorority secret handshake, LOL!
